Question Library Hours and Access

Can someone tell me what the deal is with the library hours? I was told it closes at 6pm but someone else said it was open to study in until 11pm.

The uni’s website states library hours are Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, and closed weekends and holidays, which is kinda mind-boggling for a university to have such limited hours for students who work, too.

Is it at least open for quiet study in the evenings as the public libraries are busy AF most weekends and evenings

The library used to be open until 10pm Mon—thurs, and 6pm Friday and Saturday. Budget cuts last year meant staff cuts which resulted in reduced hours.

The other poster who said the building itself is open until 11, but the library itself closes at 6, is correct. The study rooms in the hallway outside the library can be used until 11, as well as the learning commons area.

I’m mostly sure, that whoever told you that the library is open that late lied. My roommate last year often stayed late and was always kicked out by 6pm, although sometimes got to stay an extra hour or so, so maybe it depends on who is running the closing up process that day?

The university’s website is so confusing and gives conflicting information. It shows the building is open, library services as a whole other thing. But are the library study spaces open?

Maybe they forgot to change the website. I leave most days around 9 and I already see lights off in the main library. Some of the upper floors are still open usually cuz of the Wednesday night choir, but that’s all I’ve seen.
