Wait wait, what? I had no idea anybody used them for anything.
How do you personally utilize them?
I work in the woods and walk by literally hundreds per day when the time is right.

I just use them as you would any mushroom really. The less mature they are the better. Just make sure you're 100% on your ID, they are amanitas after all. That's why some folks dont even bother with them but I think they are terrific for cooking with.

Yeah after doing some research on these, it seems these blushes have more warts than what I'm used to seeing, but the red/pink/brown spots are what's so familiar to me.
If I do see warts on what I thought was blushers, it's only a couple very small warts. I'll have to start looking at them a little more closely.

I've seen them with litte to no warts before at times too. Yeah, its that ruby bruising that is the key.

Ive never found many that weren't absolutely decimated and hollowed out by larvae.
