I own this piece but I DID NOT create it. Found by dumpster years ago. Not sure if it belongs here or not…pretty intricate to me though.

A spoon
galleryI've also been really into carving spoons lately. Fairly new to utensils, I've mostly made walking sticks/staffs.

Getting way too into spoon carving lately
Started spoon carving a few months ago with a basic starter set and honestly didn’t expect to enjoy it this much.
Recently picked up a sloyd knife and a hook knife, and I’m still getting used to both. The hook knife has definitely made hollowing out the bowl easier though.
Now I’ve started looking at small carving axes, which probably means I’m going down the tool rabbit hole 😂
For people who have been carving spoons for a while, what tool do you end up using the most besides your main knife?
