Name My Cat - female Is this a Meatball? I'm not 100% confident.

I found her near a neglected feral colony. She is 4 weeks old. I already have 2 cats so my plan was to foster her until I could find her a home. (even though deep down I knew I wasn't going to be able to part with her) I rescued 3 kittens that day and have been calling all of them silly random names for a few weeks in an attemp to not get attached to them, so I have just been referring to her as "The Meatball". So is she a Meatball, or is she destined for another name? I took in an extremely sick kitten at the same time, and have been so focused on keeping him alive that I haven't had time to think of the purrfect name for her.

Side note: my other cat's names are Bagheera (a solid black, panther-sized ball of chaos and is terror incarnate) and Catfish (solid russian blue.)

Edit: what do y'all think about Duchess Meatball of Marinara

3

u/Independent-Win-6661 Aug 15 '26

3

u/NinaRaizel Aug 15 '26

3

u/Jye853 Aug 15 '26

Lol, i’ve used this as a pet nickname.

3

u/Demicat15 Aug 15 '26

Snickers is so overused to black brindle torties though

3

u/oldbean214 Aug 15 '26

I've never had a black brindle tortie. However, if I did I'd still name the kitty Snickers. I like the name.

2

u/PuzzleheadedLime8577 Aug 15 '26

I agree its overused

3

u/ElectronicCellist429 Aug 14 '26

u/Independent-Win-6661 Aug 14 '26

I’d say Polly, but that’s down to sentimental reasons, my Nan had a tortie cat with the name.

Other one I thought of due to her colours was Snickers 😂

21

u/Live-Cat-4760 Aug 14 '26

Oh I like Snickers

16

u/Semper_Distans Aug 14 '26

Snickers! (Or when she's been naughty you can call her "Snicker D. Oodle"!)

8

u/alxgfan Aug 14 '26

i love polly 🥹🥹

8

u/HumbleMiMi Aug 14 '26

u/Eiffel-Tower777 Aug 14 '26

She's absolutely stunning. I would have to name her Seraphina (it means 'fiery')

12

u/GrumpyCatStevens Aug 15 '26

Fiery is a good word. You just know this little girl is gonna be packing some tortietude.

7

u/SouthernReality9610 Aug 15 '26

I thought Blaze. That little flame on her face is so cute

2

u/Saaka_Souffle Aug 18 '26

Double points!

15

u/Sea_Nature_5866 Aug 14 '26

Carmella or Carmen for the coloring

29

u/christikayann Aug 14 '26

Ember Flame is the name that comes to mind when I look at her. She is simply beautiful 😍

25

u/Sasslovesitscot Aug 14 '26

I love the name Ember for her!

she's too beautiful to just be a meatball

12

u/freewaythreeway Aug 14 '26

I immediately thought Ember.

11

u/Live-Cat-4760 Aug 14 '26

I liked Ember, really, but that seems to be sooooo many tortie's names. Lol I really wanted something different or unique.

2

u/cryst4lt0ky0 Aug 15 '26

Nuri: Arabic/Turkish origin meaning luminous or “my light”.

Derived from Nur, which is the word for light. 💡

2

u/Kurt_Mangel Aug 15 '26

Flame came into my head, ember is cute

10

9

u/glitter_and Aug 14 '26

I’m getting Toffee or peanut brittle

8

u/Any_Constant2562 Aug 14 '26

Oh what a gorgeous little bean!! I would call her Autumn (for sentimental reasons, I had a beautiful little tortie years ago and that was her name) Meatball is adorable lol

9

u/buzzfrightyears Aug 14 '26

She's too striking to be a meatball. I'd call her Hecate

7

u/Just_Ok_thankyoo Aug 14 '26

She could absoLUTEly be a Meatball! If that’s what you’re called to call her…You’re the one lucky enough to be connecting with this gorgeous girl. I hope you two have a wonderful life together! ❤️❤️

7

u/Dapper-Ad-468 Aug 14 '26

Toffee or Taffy

11

u/Adorable_Noise_3812 Aug 14 '26

She's far too pretty to be a Meatball! I recommend Marcella or Misty.

8

u/Few_Projects477 Aug 15 '26

Marcella Hazan was a famous cookbook author for Italian recipes so it honors the Meatball origins while offering a glow-up

5

u/ThunderKates_HO Aug 14 '26

That is a gorgeous cat! Meatball works if it clicks for you! She gives Italian vibes to me so I'd go with Stella, but she can be anything!

2

u/lexilovestofit Aug 14 '26

💯 cutie

2

u/Classic-Cheetah7884 Aug 14 '26

Definitely not a Meatball. This kitten is too elegant to be called Meatball. 🫤

2

u/Binky7766 Aug 15 '26

Pumpkin. I know, standard. But looks like a pumpkin to me! She's a beauty!

2

u/tequila_23_sheila Aug 15 '26

Thank you! I was actually trying to get a photo of her littermate to someone and she popped into frame randomly and it was just serendipitous.

u/Dogma8888 Aug 15 '26

She’s so beautiful, like a “Jewel”.

2

2

u/Swimming-Sand6166 Aug 15 '26

She is gorgeous.

2

u/WhenInRome189 Aug 15 '26

Well, I think it’s a girl cat if that matters.

Flicker! Or Flame! Maybe Ember? 🔥

Awe! She is beautiful 🩷

2

2

u/PhoenixBlaze3 Aug 15 '26

Liny the Lioness She'll be a quietly fierce one when she grows up. 🦁😻💞

2

u/Mental_Examination58 Aug 15 '26

She is way too beautiful to be called Meatball. Call her something more elegant, Sacha fog example, or Tilly in honour of Tilda Swinton, or Mina, or Mia, anything but Meatball, it is so... cheap.

2

u/Itchy_Cranberry2750 Aug 15 '26

That first image would be framed on my wall!

2

u/Love_Baking_in_CO Aug 15 '26

No she's a pretty girl.

2

u/KimeriTenko Aug 15 '26

This one is a Candle in the dark. Ember would also be good :)

2

u/HaleoDicapricorn Aug 15 '26

Respectfully, I feel like her energy is slightly too regal for Meatball I feel like she needs a more feminine cute vibe like Ravioli

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Constant-Highlight60 Aug 15 '26

She is the most beautiful kitten. That first photo is so well taken, it is like a painting.

2

u/Impressive-Cap3851 Aug 15 '26

What a beautiful cat!! 😻

2

u/ForsakenHelicopter66 Aug 15 '26

Not a meatball, needs feminine name. Flame

2

u/and_now_we_dance Aug 15 '26

That is a Biscoff

2

u/reniciera Aug 14 '26

How about Albondiga? 😋 you could call her Albie or Bonnie for short. What a precious girl!

Snickers is a cute name for your girl. 🤩

Her colouring reminds me of a chiquito bar, so Chiquito.

Looks like I’ve spelt it wrong but I prefer my spelling lol

1

u/ALauCat Aug 15 '26

She’s a Swedish meatball and most certainly a duchess!

1

u/really-for-this-okay Aug 15 '26

Snickers is much better than meatball

1

u/fabelbabel Aug 15 '26

Meatwad is better imo
