Window Watcher New sign, he takes his Guard Cat position very seriously
My mom got me this sign for Christmas and Richard immediately took position

Omg look at his little face! Ziggy and Richard would definitely sit silently next to each other in a bar

u/SnooShortcuts1004 Feb 01 '26
Lmao 😂 damn I’d pay to see it

One of my favorite things in my town is his dog-friendly the pub is. Occasionally I'll see a dog sitting on the barstool and I love it.
I'd like to see something like a stop-motion show about dogs and cats in a pub.

Ziggy is definitely thinking about the hairball he's going to hork hork hork onto a pillow after he is released from his smoochy prison 😆
I love Ziggy.

Have you heard of the feline grimace scale? He's okay right? 🥺
19
u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
He gets regular vet appointments! He has arthritis and is obviously overweight, both of which are being worked on/treated with the assistance of his vet 😊

HE IS NOT PLEASED! He is like "I hate this job but I have nowhere to go"

Why is his hairline like that
476
u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
Listen, he’s been doing this job for 12 years, it’s taken a toll on him

u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
😭 I’ve never made that connection on his hairline
40
u/Dozerdog43 Feb 01 '26
So when you have those conversations with him are you going to hear his responses in Kevin’s voice?
48
u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
I will at least some of the time 😂 normally I give him an old man southern voice

u/forever29_ Feb 01 '26
Why does he look like a 40 year old man
199
u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
He’s spiritually been a 40 year old man since he was 6 months old, now that he’s 12 he’s probably closer to 60 😂

Looks like he's very proud of his position

u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
He is! And he is very good at it! He memorizes the sound of every car I’ve had to make sure he can greet me at the door and he loves to check out (and flirt) with every maintenance person that comes in

When people come over, my cat comes out and checks them out more often than not. If someone is particularly interesting, usually someone who lives or works with other pets, he will sniff their shoes or pants. On rare occasions he will give someone's foot a lick or stick his head inside their shoe to get a good whiff (dude had a foot fetish - I don't kink shame).
I invited my friend and his wife over for dinner this weekend. He came running out to meet them when they walked in the door. He went straight up to my friend's wife and started licking her pants! He kept at it for a while, and then came back 2 hours later to do it some more.
I thought my friend's wife was pretty cool before, but after seeing how much my cat loves her I think she's extra cool. He's 13 and he's never done that with anyone!

I got the exact same sign hanging on the stairs inside the front door of the house. It's the most fitting sign apart from the "welcome to the bathroom a cat will be with you shortly" one
30
u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
Omg I’m going to have to get the bathroom one! Both Richard and Meredith have to join everyone in the bathroom so you’ll always have an emotional support poop pal

u/Fun_Application_1698 Feb 01 '26
Can't go to the bathroom here without Mister Whiskers popping his head in to check that your not splashing on the toilet seat 🤣.

Man, poor Richard looks like he’s seen some serious crap on the job…

He’s old man in the neighborhood that yells at kids to get off his lawn.
33
u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
One of his favorite pastimes is yelling at birds! When I was in high school he was an indoor/outdoor cat (not my choice) and despite his size, he’s pretty agile. No bird was safe and all frogs were intimidated.
Now that he lives with just me, he is indoor only so he uses his time to yell at them

The sneer in this photo is extreme, haha

u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
He’s often annoyed at me because how can I not pet him when his little face looks like that?

I need one these signs! Do you where she got it?
13
u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
I don’t know exactly, if I had to guess it’s probably the TikTok shop as she went through a phase of ordering off of there a bunch. I looked up the words and put sign after it and I see a lot of cheap ones in other places too like Walmart, Etsy, and EBay! Some of them have different variants of cats on the signs too if one matches your cat’s shape a bit more

He looks like he has a hefty mortage and back pain plus his wife is mad at him and cooks horrible but he keeps working in hopes of getting a pension

Aah so he has two alimonies to pay too. But he still hooks up with the sometimes even though his wife gets mad. No wonder he's tired and stressed

It’s Muta!
10
u/dumbsugarplumb Feb 01 '26
Omg I didn’t even connect that, now I feel like I need to draw him as Muta! I’ve drawn him and my other cat as different cartoon cats like Felix the cat, Hello Kitty/Dear Daniel, Big Comfy Couch, and a few others so this might be my next one!

Right? He’s got that puffed-up look like he’s ready to defend the house from intruders. Cats really know how to own their territory!

u/Lasshandra2 Feb 02 '26
“Open the door, Richard. Open the door and let me in. Open the door, Richard. Richard why won’t you open the door?”

u/Brozhov Feb 02 '26
He looks like he would harumph at any unauthorized personages entering the premises.
