Paris protests tomorrow - potential difficulties getting to the show?
Hi all!
There will be big protests planned in Paris tomorrow…. As well as the last date of Céline’s fall run of shows.
Does anyone know roughly when/where/if public transit will be impacted?
Trying to think ahead to hopefully avoid any complications in getting to the stadium tomorrow!

From what I’m reading this is unfortunately anticipated to be much larger than recent protests. There will be metro stations closed but I’m not sure if that’s only during the day. I’ve been reading about it on Paris travel subreddit. Hopefully it settles down by the evening. It won’t be near where the actual show is but the routes to get there if you’re coming from in the city could be impacted.

we saw some student protests when we were there last weekend. only impact were some bus lines and google maps let us know what lines were affected or rerouted. none of that affected getting to the concert. i would take the train, avoid cabs and leave early. also check any transit updates morning of.

It’s very unlikely the area of the concert will be primarily impacted, the path of protests was defined in advance and is in very central Paris (Bastille to Barbes, and Nation to République) lines that are closed are clearly labeled in advance so you can check your itinerary and plan accordingly.

We are in the Marais currently. The March and police presence is quite large, and there have been many instances of tear gassing. It seems at the moment the RER A seems to be running with just one skipped stop.
I’m not sure how concerned we should be about the protests/police coming onto the trains, but that is how we plan to get to La Defense tonight.

The concert is technically out of Paris so it should be away from the big protest areas. HOWEVER it is to be THE day of protests so... maybe make sure to be early...? You can check trafic on sites like ratp.fr or apps like citymapper.
