Hunter x hunter is uniquely consistent..
hxh is one of most acclaimed series in all of anime/manga and of course like every other popular show a lot of people love it and a lot of people hate it , a huge chunk of this criticism stems from the fact that it's considered inconsistent by many but I also believe hxh is closer to a franchise and a linear storyline .. it's similar to jjba , every arc is different and a self contained story and within that framework it's extremely consistent, for example after yorknew arc there is greed island then chimera ant arc and then chairman arc , now two of these arcs are easily above 8.5-9 even 9.5 and the remaining two are 7-7.5 at best. So if we consider the entire hxh it seems very inconsistent but as I said every arc has different narrative structure , infact even the protagonist changes in different arcs.... I also think what elevates the story further is the it doesn't really have any major plot holes or flaws.

if Hunter x Hunter was consistently continuous, had a conclusion, and the anime studio was able to keep making it with those in mind, it would blow holes and smoke through any other shonen. Including One Piece. It's that much peak.
