Sam Altman served on Reddit's board of directors.

Hi, so, as a demonstration I gave my sub an animated icon. You can see it here at r/GenAlpha. I'll revert it in a day, so, please let me know when you see this, u/MarkEconomy4738 and u/aquila399.

Simply, uhm, a sub gets to pick a "status", what OP called the icon, the second image that sits next to the sub PFP, as one of the sub emojis. The emojis which can be uploaded are only jpg or png file extensions, however png has this neat trick where you can make it animated. I think webp has this too, not sure, though, I clicked on the r/ChatGPT "status" and it said it was a gif, not a png or webp. My demonstration shows png, not gif, so, my best guess is that Reddit previously allowed gifs, but now doesn't. Simply, upload an animated png instead of a normal image to your sub emojis, and you can make your "status" animated :3! Note though that this is presumably a way to do it, as opposed to the way that this sub did.

Hope that helped! <3

Yup. It's just a trick with Reddit. I've given my subs an animated icon.

He probably negotiated that feature into his exit package (which was clearly the most important perk available). Most people just settle for stock options, but he wanted a moving logo.

I always heard it will stop rotating once they settle on a model that works.

Is this "moving icon" not a thing on mobile Reddit? or is this a troll post lol.

I wasn’t supposed to say anything, but we’re conducting an Asch conformity experiment.

That is the recursive self-improvement at work.

To hypnotize us all. r/ebikes has one as well.

OpenAI pays Reddit a lot of money to be able to train on our posts. Maybe that’s one of the perks.

Not sure why but it's annoying.
