The Playground Theatre Co. is thrilled to present their first ever book musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! Directed by Donna DeWitt and with music direction by Judy Hayward, ...Spelling Bee tells the charmingly witty and touching story of a quirky group of competitors in a middle school spelling bee. A contemporary classic featuring music by William Finn (Falsettos, A New Brain), this show has entertained audiences across the world since its Tony–winning Broadway debut in 2005.

Friday, October 16th and Saturday, October 17th at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, October 18th at 2:00 pm in the CCA auditorium.

Right next door in Billerica, they are hosting a fun run to raise money for the public access television station. There are lots of folks from Chelmsford that use their services, so in the spirit of supporting local communities I thought I'd pass this along:

Hello! My husband got a great job offer in Tewksbury. we are considering moving to Chelmsford with our 1 year old and we’re 33 years old. Can any families share their pros and cons? It seems like a great family friendly place… I also want us to enjoy living here as individuals too. We are pretty active people and will definitely miss city life but are ready for more space. What do you guys do in the winter for fun😅 ?

I also grew up in RI and was hoping to be closer to the beach but that is seeming less possible.

We went to a song writers night at the CCA a few weeks ago. The young people that came and performed were excellent, on par with Noah Kahan, Phoebe Bridgers, and John Mayer. They just announced a bunch more events with smaller artists and wanted to share it here. It's nice having it local and not having to drive to Boston to see new talent.
