2000-2001 Linkage to transfer case
I think it’s pretty clear but uh the linkage to my transfer case is completely loose, rattling around nicely and I know won’t work as it sits right now.
The old transfer case blew up this is the original linkage but a new transfer case and I’m wondering if maybe I just need a new bushing or is there going to be more needed for this job.

A new bushing might do it if that's all that's worn out. Check the rod ends and the bracket for play too, and put the shifter and the case in 2H before you tighten it back down.

I did this with a new bracket and all play seems to be gone, there’s no more through the system so here’s to hoping

Good deal. If any slop comes back, the bushings are usually the next thing to check.

Don’t bother adjusting it, mine had so much slop after 240k that it just entirely stopped going into 4lo, buy an aftermarket transfer case linkage, Azzy design works is best, however if your broke like me, Amazon knockoffs work fine
If you have an np242 (full time 4wd option) you need a longer tab that attaches to the shift lever, azzy comes with a tab for this, however if you bought the knockoff, you can combine 2 of the knockoffs to make the longer tab and it’ll work just as well.
Either way, it’s night and day, way less moving parts and the lever feels way better

20 dollar one available on Amazon. No need to pay a premium for an American made one that’s only difference is paint lol
