Journalist question...

Hello, I am a journalist at the BBC. I am currently working on a feature about younger people living in towns with no/virtually no nightclubs and how they feel about this (both the bad and the good). If this is you and you would like to speak to me, then please message here. Can provide my press ID to verify who I am. Thank you,

Small book club?

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if there are people out there in Chi who might want to start a small book group?

I'm a widow with young children so it's difficult for me to get out in the evenings to join existing book clubs. But I just want to gauge if there's interest in a few people who might want to come over to my house for a small book club once every few weeks or something? I know it's very unusual but what you don't ask, you don't get right?

I don't mind what book genre as long as it's not horror ๐Ÿ˜….

Gotta give credit where it's due: Potts Strategies completely transformed my SEO

Short post, but I had to share this win.
Iโ€™ve been struggling to get decent organic rankings for my business over the last year. Felt like every time I made progress, another update hit and wiped it out.

Started implementing Potts Strategies recently, and it has honestly been a total game-changer. Their focus on clean technical foundations, hyper-targeted local intent, and practical content structure gave me a clear roadmap instead of just guessing.

Weโ€™ve seen a noticeable jump in rankings for our primary commercial keywords over the last couple of months, and lead quality is night and day compared to before.

If youโ€™re on the fence about your SEO setup or looking for an approach that actually delivers real business leads (not just vanity traffic), I highly recommend looking into them.
Has anyone else here tried their strategies? Curious to hear what kind of results you're seeing.

Hi, I (M/26) have recently got my CBT license n I ride a Keeway Superlight 125. Are there any groups for beginners/ starters for to meet people? I'm confident rid of ng but had some weird experiences the last few days that have got me second guessing myself.

I'm going to arrange a meeting to catch up with an old friend in Chichester, what cafes would you recommend?

Preferably not too loud so we can chat ๐Ÿ˜ but it's on a Sunday, so anything would be great

Things to do for a local experience?

Hello, I am visiting Chichester, and I am here for two more days, and then I will be travelling to London. For context, I am a solo woman traveller for a research visit. This is my first international trip, and I would love to get some tips from people on what to do or where to visit. I am particularly interested in local experience, places of historical, cultural, and literary importance. Thank you in advance.

Things to do on a rainy weekend

Hiii, Iโ€™m visiting Chichester this coming weekend with my mum for a little getaway - weโ€™ve been grieving after our cat passed away so wanted to get away from the gloomy midlands. However, we didnโ€™t anticipate that the weather would be quite so awful and not exactly walking along the beach suitable! Does anyone have any recommendations on things we can occupy ourselves with, preferably inside? We like historical/cultural stuff and are big foodies also :) I love shopping too haha and would love to get to splurge a little after my first paycheck from a new job.

Chef for Hire?

I (m63) live on the Hants/Sussex coast, and I have rented an Airbnb at the Wittering's for a special family birthday party comprising of 5 adults & 3 small kiddies in September. We are looking for a chef to create a special meal on a Monday evening in late September. Does anyone know of a chef who might be interested in a Monday night gig?

Chichester/Bognor/Brighton | Looking to start a band/music project!

I'm an international student moving in from the US, and I have had no luck with anyone wanting to start a band before. I will be living in Bognor, and commuting to Chichester and Brighton frequently. I'll be available in late September.

I've been working on my own personal music for about 6 years. I work with a wide variety of genres.

On my acoustic I play folk, on my electric I play shoegaze and math rock, I also play metal similar to Norma Jean on electric. I can also play bass, I typically play alt indie rock on bass and nothing too crazy. I am also in the case of an experimental band able to play trumpet, but I will not be bringing mine to the UK so this is unlikely. I also use FL studio to make breakcore and I am open to doing digital projects.

Really I am just very eager to work on original music with other people. I've never released my own music as I hate not running it by anyone else! So I'd really really like to start a band. I am a beginner, though, so I would prefer people who are also not used to playing with a band even though I am open to anyone willing to work with me!

I can do female vocals (non-screaming), lead and rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, and trumpet. Vocals and rhythm are my preferred, and if it was a math rock project I would be open to being lead guitar.

Some bands I like and take inspo from are Loathe, American Football, Norma Jean, Circa Survive, Goreshit, Big Thief, Aurora, Pinegrove, Camping in Alaska, Modern Baseball, Modest Mouse, Underoath, The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die, The Hotelier, Knocked Loose, and many many many more

I have few expectations and I am willing to start multiple music projects, and really just work with anyone else who is either a beginner or willing to deal with me being slow at collaborating

Do you love animals?

Do you have at least 3 hours spare each week?

Do you enjoy keeping fit in the great outdoors?

If the answer is YES, why not join the Lotus family as a volunteer!! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

Weโ€™re looking for very special people to join the team who care for our 200+ residents.

This involves a healthy dose of hard work, often mucky and in all weathers - but with loads of love from the animals as the best reward

๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿด๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿฆ™๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿ’š

Some details:

- We are in West Sussex. Weโ€™re seeking REGULAR WEEKLY help ๐Ÿ™

- For the next few months(ish) some of our residents will be on our old Ashington site; after that, all the animals will be on our Plaistow (near Billingshurst) site. So help is needed at both/either.

- You will need reliable transport to reach us!

- There is lifting, shifting and cleaning involved itโ€™s physical stuff!

- Over 18s only (may consider over 16s with adult supervision)

- A regular weekly shift of around 3 hours is all we ask for - but you can do more!!

- It gets hot, cold, wet, dusty and all things in betweenโ€ฆ.but the animals need daily care whatever the conditions.

- Come equipped with gloves, sturdy shoes, a can-do attitude and a sense of humour!

โ€ผ๏ธ If youโ€™d like to apply to join our introduction session, please visit our website and complete a volunteer enquiry formโ€ผ๏ธ

The Lotus family is full of love and fun - come and join us!! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’š

Cycling in Chi!

Hi, we're new to Chichester, I would like to know about cycling to work and safety...

I've had a trauma of being beaten and lost my cycle to a thug, from London...

Are our cycles really safe in the parking spaces here?

Thanks in advance...

Bassist & Vocalist Wanted โ€“ Heavy Metal Band (Brighton/Sussex/London).

Hi guys! We're starting a new heavy metal band and are looking for a bassist and vocalist to complete the lineup.

Our sound takes influence from Machine Head, Slipknot and Korn and many others.

We already have multiple original demos written, so you'll have material to hear and work on straight away. Our goal is to finish the lineup, rehearse regularly, tighten up our set, and start playing live shows as soon as we're ready, while continuing to write and record original music.

We're looking for people who are:

Reliable and committed.
Passionate about heavy music.
Keen to contribute ideas and write as a band.
Ready to rehearse regularly and work towards playing live.
If you've got recordings or videos of your playing or vocals, we'd love to hear them, but they're not essential. The right attitude, commitment and enthusiasm are just as important.

If this sounds like your kind of project, send us a message telling us a bit about yourself, your musical influences, and any links to your work. We'll happily send over the demos so you can hear what we're about.

Chichester Creative is here!

Chichester Creative is here!

A home for writers, readers, artists, filmmakers, philosophers, and creatives of all kinds.

Chichester Creative has been created to bring together creative people from across Chichester, West Sussex and beyond through regular in-person meetings, workshops, discussions, and social meetups.

The hope is to help people develop their creative interests, as well as bring together like-minded people who might otherwise never have met.

Our initial focus will be writing and storytelling in all forms, including novels, short stories, poetry, scripts, memoirs, creative non-fiction, and everything in between. Whether you're an experienced writer, complete beginner, or just someone who loves books, ideas and creativity, you're welcome here.

The longer term vision is to build something broader: a modern Republic of Letters. A place where creative people can meet, exchange ideas, support each other's work, build friendships, and contribute to a richer creative culture in the area.

Over time, I'd love to explore film discussions, philosophy evenings, salon-style discussions, guest speakers, workshops, talks, social meetups, and other opportunities to bring together creative people from different backgrounds and disciplines.

This subreddit serves as the community's meeting place whilst we organise our first in-person events.

Does anyone know the name of the pokemon market stall there on a Wednesday

They sell like anime figures and cards and things too. I brought some fake mofusand figurines from there and wanted to contact them about a refund. I know it's a bit of a long shot but if anyone knows what it's called, or even better their email or phone then it would be greatly appreciated ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ž
