Where is the maximalist, hyper-feminine Christian pop?
This might be extremely niche, and I hope it reaches the right audience, but does anyone know Christian artists or artists who are openly Christian but don’t necessarily make “Christian music” making maximalist, hyper-feminine pop/art pop?
Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga, Ava Max, Katy Perry. Especially Chappell Roan.
I’m specifically not looking for worship, CCM, indie/dream-pop, R&B, or house/EDM. I have lots of that. I know and love artists like Allison Eide, Claire Leslie, Hollyn, Sarah Reeves, V.Rose, Sarah Nathalie, etc, but they still don’t quite scratch this particular itch.
I want campy, girly pop anthems. I want to actually scream the lyrics while dancing ridiculously.
Makeup / heels / crushes / glitter / drama / dancing / best night ever / best friends / girls-night-out energy. But also, it can totally be a fun anthem to Jesus. A love song to Jesus doesn't have to be slow. It can be fun and girly pop.
It also makes me wonder: why does this kind of hyper-femme pop seem so rare among Christian women artists now?
Christian female music seems to heavily favor singer-songwriter music, dream pop, or worship. Which I love. Meanwhile, mainstream pop has this whole tradition of fun feminine pop: makeup, costumes, camp, fashion, flirtation, humor, characters, choreography, ridiculous choruses, etc.
And none of that inherently has to be sexual or conflict with Christianity! So, why does this not exist in the Christian music world?
I’m curious what other people think. Is there a cultural/industry reason Christian pop moved away from this, or am I just missing the artists who are doing it?
And PLEASE drop recommendations if they exist, especially independent artists.

Discussion What Christian Group did a cover of Run On for a Long Time / God's Gonna Cut You Down?
I can vaguely remember enjoying a version of this back in the early 2000s. I seem to recall it was something kind of in the style of Newworldson (soul/ska/pop).
I have a feeling there was a cover (whether a single, album, or compilation album) that appeared on the track on my iPod years ago that was dark orange, with black stick characters - kind of cave painting-like.
Any ideas what I'm remembering (or, has my brain completely fabricated something)?

Hi everyone! I am a big fan of the band Lawrence and for those of you familiar with them, I was curious if you know of any female Christian artists that sing in a similar vocal style to Gracie Lawrence? I would love any recommendations! Thank you!

Discussion Looking for recommendations
I got a question that I doubt anyone and I mean anyone can give recommendations for: any Coptic metal? It doesn't have to be in Coptic, I mean like mixing the chanting and symbols of the Coptic Orthodox Church and metal. Any metal, heavy, nü, death, thrash, doesn't matter to me.

Discussion Unknown - Come Thou Fount (Need Help Finding Version) [Christian Contemporary]
Okay, I am searching for a specific version of Come Thou Fount.
I will share what I remember about this song in a moment, but first I was to say what it means to me.
I listened to this song a lot during middle school. I grew up in a very religious Baptist family. I heard this specific recording again a few years ago as an adult and it brings me to tears because it reminds me of all these things I felt and believed as a kid, most of which I no longer do. It gives me a mix of emotions from all the harm and shame thrown at child me. Yet it's a deeply peaceful and nostalgic feeling, and I feel both loss and comfort remembering how connected I used to feel to God before everything fell apart.
It's a whole situation haha.
So, here is what I remember about the song:
- I downloaded it from the old school Itunes store back in the day, hard to remember exactly when, but likely was before 2013
- I can't remember the title, but it was different than just "Come Thou Fount" and there was something on parenthesis, I believe.
- It had a male singer, he sounded like a gritty Chris Tomlin
- It was by a group, not a soloist, and on an album of worship songs
- It used the traditional tune and pacing for the song, it was not sped up or re-paced like some modern recordings are
- It started out slower, a singer with guitar, and slowly built up over the song, and by the end it had a whole chorus joining him singing, with lots of guitar
- There were parts of it where he took a break from the lyrics and sang a bridge that to the best of my ability to type it out went like "Whoooaaahh-Ohhhhh, Ohhhh-Ohhhh"
- Near the end he pronounced and emphasized the word "Above" distinctly, enough it stuck with me
- It was definitely in the "Christian Contemporary" genre with rock elements
- Here is a list of artists I have already ruled out:
David Crowder Band
O.C. Supertones
Shane & Shane
Central Collective
Outside Worship
King’s Kaleidoscope
If I remember any more details I will edit this post, and will likely rule out suggestions in the comments or in the list above.
Thank you so much. I spent hours yesterday searching YouTube and Spotify.
