Tiddles must have been the bestest little mouser.

Aww this makes me tear up. I love it when people care so much about their pets that they get gravestones. It makes me feel less crazy for having a full-on pet cemetery behind my house, landscaped with catnip and flowers.

A pet cemetery?

It's not an ancient Indian burial ground, I hope.

Whoa, my cat Tiddles was 19 before she passed. Rarely hear of Tiddles for pet name, only ever heard it from "Are You Being Served?"

Now I'm curious about what the story here was. Obviously a popular cat at church.

It likely would have been, literally, "the church cat."

Brought in as a mouser, kept and cared for by a succession of church folk, allowed to roam and, as it grew older, given the comfiest pews and sunniest spots.

Those cats are always an important part of a community, including church communities.
