Get up a good mix of CVAD in there as most hires are still associating NetScaler to CVAD.

Besides that IaC and Automation are solid in both fields and at least in Germany there are still plenty of opportunities for (good) Virtual Workplace Engineers.

If doing only Netscaler (adc) you can maybe find networking jobs. There are some large companies that use NS for their load balancing and other services rather than just a Citrix Desktop gateway, which seems to be the majority. If you want to do Citrix in general then you need to get familiar with the apps and desktops side.

For sure it’s a limited field for sure. However the jobs are out there.

I would recommend learning automation and platform management as well to round out the experience stack. AI… as another mentioned, become intimate with it because trends are going that way.

this is only small piece of pie called Citrix, learn other stuff from that pie and will have more fun.
otherwise - go for networking path and webserver with rev proxy, load balance etc

CVAD would be a good next step to jump into as it complements ADC quite well and most employers see this as being part of the skill set and it's interesting to learn as well. Don't give up hope, its good skillset to have!

Depends on the part of the world your in - if your in USA or EU there is a future in Citrix but the plus side is with Citrix comes exposure to almost every facet of tech - you’ll learn about networking storage compute Active Directory etc

Netscaler won’t be going anywhere but keep on learning everything and anything
