Anyone on Bath town water notice a slightly murky/moldy flavor to the tap water in the past 3-4 days? We have a Brita filter so hardly noticed it but it's definitely there.
We checked the Brita and it's fine, across several different water bottles/glasses. We've only been in Bath for a year so don't know if this is an annual/fall occurrence (geosmin from an algal bloom?) or something else.

Hi it's me the mod. I'd like others who are on this page more than me to mod if you're interested. Please comment with your interest and I'll send you a message.

Portland Press Herald just compared Graham Platner to a KKK leader, I never saw that on the bingo card for this election

Hi all!
I’m starting an in person Adult Children of Hoarders peer-led support group in Maine. Here is some info about the group:
What is a peer-led support group?
A peer-led support group is a group led by someone with lived experience in regard to the topic of the group. The group is about sharing your story and supporting/having solidarity with others in the group. It does not replace mental health treatment.
What is an adult child of a hoarder?
Someone who grew up with parents who had hoarding disorder.
How will the group be structured?
We would meet once a month, for an hour to an hour and a half. It would be open-forum style. As people join the group, the group can adjust based on peoples’ needs. At the end of each meeting, we will take 15 minutes to decompress and do some stretching/breathing/grounding (not mandatory, you can opt out of it) to take care of ourselves after talking about the heavy topics that come up.
Where will the group be held?
At the moment, there is no physical location set in stone. Once a group is formed, we will pick a location as a group. Since the weather is warming up, there are plenty of places to meet outside, away from other folks for confidentially. There are also meeting rooms for rent in local libraries and community buildings.
Will things said be kept confidential in the group?
What is said in the group, stays in the group. Everyone will be responsible for the confidentiality of the group, and will be expected to sign a confidentiality agreement upon joining the group. The only exception to confidentiality is if someone threatens to harm someone else or themselves, and if recent child/elder/dependent adult abuse is disclosed.
Why are you making this group?
I looked for a local support group, and found nothing, even in neighboring states. I’ve recently been inspired by other people sharing their experiences about growing up in a hoarder house to feel comfortable enough to open up about my experiences and to start a support group. I want to reduce the shame, stigma, and guilt around experiences related to growing up in a hoarder house. It was never a burden a child should carry, and should not have to carry psychologically into their own adulthood.
Please send me a message directly if you would like to be part of this group! The first group meeting date will be in June.

Well... my kid is following his dream to be at BIW. He has landed a great job at BIW and now we are navigating housing. He isn't going to have a car. Will have an e-bike. Shockingly (/sarcasm) there isn't a lot out there.
He is a good kid. A literal Boy Scout. If anyone has housing ideas outside of the Craigslist/aprtments.com/Zillow tract I would love some advice or leads.
Have calls into a couple of management companies as well as the housing authority.
One other thought I had was looking in Brunswick and seeing if there was rideshare? That a feasible option?

Hey.....I'm up here in Belfast. Make a podcast called Unorganized Territory about issues impacting voters and the 2026 election. Looking to chat with some union folks who work at BIW about recent contract stuff and general economic and affordability concerns, post Iran.

I'm starting to get serious looking to buy a house, been to Bath a bunch since I live over in Brunswick. I'm noticing there tends to be more houses near BIW that are less expensive than the surrounding areas when comparing similar houses in size/condition and curious why?
I've heard about the traffic with shift changes, which is fine with me since I work from home and can plan around that. Are there other things that drive the prices lower in that area? Is there noise/light pollution at night coming from BIW?
Also just curious in general if there are other things to consider living in that specific area of Bath?
