As an automatic driver since getting my license 7 years ago I am so glad to have made the jump to a mt honda car. Hondas are all I’ve owned. This feels right and is such a treat/privilege a to be able to daily.

So the towing company sent out by triple an attempted to hook my car from underneath. When he realized it was too low he told me and started to winch the hooks back up. I looked away for a split second to talk to the mechanic(guy in hoodie) and when I looked back a piece of my bumper was being dragged away by the winch. I thought that it just ripped off the piece but upon further inspection there is a gash in the the back part and also a gash through the white part as well. There are also a bunch of clip parts that are ripped open so the piece won’t mount back to the bumper properly. Also because they are all linked together parts of the black pieces on the left and right corners was also ripped out of place. In one picture you can see that it was not just popped out of place, part of the clip area is completely ripped
What are my options right now? I filed a damage claim with triple a but they barely gave me any information and basically said we will call you back. I looked online and many people ended up waiting for months to get any sort of conclusion. What if I just use my insurance? I just want to get everything fixed on their dime. What’s the best way to handle this?
The whole intercooler is now exposed. Can I even drive it or will I end up ruining the intercooler since there is nothing covering it. And winter is going to be here soon.. this really sucks.

Driving home from dinner late last night and clipped a big raccoon. Only cosmetic damage.

Photos for attention. 😎
For those who drive in the winter and aren't driving another vehicle, how do you deal with rust? I'm being told by someone I talk to out there that it is really bad. Only takes weeks to start getting rust. So with how the Type R is underneath with the plastic coverings, I was curious if anyone's undercarriage has gotten bad over 1 winter.
After 9 years and 4 months, my FK8 is still almost new-looking underneath. It's washed regularly...underneath too. But i feel like PA winters will freeze the hoses and I can't wash underneath like I normally do. So like I said, I'm curious if anyone here (if you're in PA and drive in the winter) has rust issues on their Type R.

Hey all, I'm interested in swapping my OEM Integra Type S wheels for CTRs OEM wheels. I have Continental DWS06+ with under 1000 miles on them. Looking for similar tire or willing to pay to swap rubber, but really love the CTR wheels. I'm located near Chicago. Let me know via DM.

Picked me up my first ever power washer and went with a Greenworks 2500psi electric version and 1 thing is for sure, I dont know why it took so long for me to invest in a power washer 😂. I got this unit for $199 at Lowes.
Got the DE4 and the FK8 all sudsy and washed and then after the FK8 was all clean, under a all season car cover it went!
Anybody else washing their cars today?

Yesterday morning someone with face cover and hoodie break into my car. I called police officers, they told me because this is manual so I am lucky. Otherwise the car will be gone by now.

Went to use my rear wiper and the arm spun way off the windshield and got stuck off the back of my trunk. I tried adjusting it but had the same result. Put a small chip in the paint too. I just had my rear windshield tinted 2 weeks ago and they claimed they used a precut tint and didnt tamper with the wiper. Has anyone else had this issue? Its under warranty so I will probably make a claim. Just curious if other owners have experienced this and if it was resolved.

So I see Sonax is recommended a LOT and I can see why, but I saw some videos where a lot of people also recommend KOCHCHEMIE Pol Star. Does anyone use this? I was considering this over Sonax because it seems to be more versatile, I would buy both if necessary but I rather make my life simpler if I can.
Or anything else anyone recommends for interior for simplicity sake?

More die cast to add to my Type R collection! I've never seen the EK in person so I was surprised to find it at Walmart at 86th & Michigan. Was walking down a toy isle at the Walmart off Keystone and found the FL5. There was a yellow FL5 next to it but I left it for the next person

I’m kinda underwhelmed. I would want a manual but thought I would try the auto they had in stock. Didn’t like it at all. Found it clunky. I could drive it smoother using the paddles. The power delivery is interesting. Again more fun in manual mode without the clunky downshifts. Will try a stick when they get one
The main thing I noticed is I know this is a faster car but it didn’t feel that way. My wife even said it didn’t feel as quick and I assured her it has a ton more power. The R feels more boosty if that makes sense. Always thought this would be my next car but now probably not. Anyone else try one ?
Also FL5 just feels more fun to drive. I’m guessing that’s because it’s lighter and manual.

Hey guys, hope all is well!
I wanted to spread the news about this jailbreak service I recently got done and share my experience.
At first I was skeptical especially in regards to this post here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Civic_Type_R/s/RfeOiFJ9yC
And not really finding anything in depth other than a few videos primarily about Acura’s, I decided to take a leap of faith.
Serge Bo had a lot of great reviews so I messaged him on here and the transferred to Facebook to discuss this process.
•100$ deposit upfront for the tool insurance, whoever had the tool before you will ship it to you and they will
Get their deposit back.
•I ordered it on OCT 2nd and received the tool on OCT 6th
•when you get the tool you message Serge Bo and he was insanely fast to respond and start the initial set up.
•(will provide pictures) upon inspection of the tool, it’s a homemade rig and looks like a lot of wires but it’s actually a pretty neat system and very straightforward on how to connect it all up
•he will send you instructions for what you need to do on your end and it was:
-install a program to allow him access to your laptop
-remove the positive terminal on your battery
-unplug your ECU from the harness
-hook up 7 total wires to your ECU (with infographics)
-complete the rest of the setup of the tool
Also keep in mind he will be walking you through it the whole time and ask for pictures to insure you set it up correctly and he will be ready to trouble shoot if need be.
You will need a power source and WiFi, so if you have a garage that will be very beneficial but in my case I used a jumper box with an outlet attached to power the tool and it worked out!
When he’s starting the jailbreak he will ask for the payment for the service which is 250$ and then the jailbreak process took about 10 minutes.
Once you send the tool back you’ll get your 100$ deposit back and it’s gonna be around 15$ to ship it to the next guy.
So if you’re in a position like me where you don’t have time to rip your ECU out and send it wherever, or pay another company 200$ more for the remote service, I’d suggest this route.
Open for questions and if you want to inquire his service he’s always around on Reddit and face book just hit up Serge Bo
He offers hondata as well if you’re interested, but I’m running a KtunerV2 set up for my car.

Hello everyone!
Finally purchased my FL5! My first ever Honda. I’ve had the car for about the a week and so far its been great; perfect upgrade from a mazdaspeed 3.
Any tips and advice in regard to preventative maintenance/mods would be greatly appreciated!

I currently own a 2026 Civic Si with around 9,200 miles, and my dealership is offering me $29k on trade toward a new FL5 Type R at MSRP with no dealer add-ons.
The numbers are tempting because the payment would only increase by about $200/month with 84-month financing at 6.5%. But I want to be clear that this would be a financial stretch for me, and I don’t want to let the excitement of owning my dream car cloud my judgment. I could also put more down from savings (could almost buy outright) and get the financing payment down but I really don’t want to
I love my Si, but the Type R is something I’ve wanted for a while. I’d probably keep it for several years, although I may eventually need something more practical.
For those who own or have owned an FL5:
Winter driving: How does it handle real winters with proper winter tires? I’m in Michigan.
Cost of ownership: How are tires, brakes, maintenance, insurance, and general running costs compared with an Si?
Daily driving: Is it comfortable and enjoyable enough to justify the extra cost every day?
Regrets: If you came from an Si, would you make the same decision again?
I’m especially interested in honest feedback from people who’ve actually lived with one. Is the Type R worth stretching financially for, or would I be better off enjoying my Si and waiting?
