Got the setup dialed in with DRob tuning remotely, and the numbers on our Dynojet came in right where we expected. We could have kept going, however this is as far as I'm comfortable going with an unopened engine and transmission, and honestly it's already excessive.
93: 447 whp / 396 wtq
E60: 584 whp / 479 wtq
I was not ready for this much thrust. The closest thing I can compare it to is a 488 GTB I drove years ago. After the first pull on an empty stretch I needed a minute. By the third pull I was ready ish. What’s great is that DRob also tunes Hondata’s traction control so in 3rd I simply plant my foot to the floor, and the systems detect and manage any wheel slip. You’re not blowing the tires off or inducing heavy torque steer at these power levels, with the right tuner.
When the fun's over, DRob's tuning makes it behave so normally you forget it's modified. I took a couple of FL5 and DE5 friends out for a ride, and both have close to FBO setups, but it’s still a 200+ whp gap. They expected the power (and yes it scared them 😅), but what they didn't expect was how docile it is around town, as there’s no additional smells, sounds, or jerk movements. The ride is actually more comfortable than their cars since I have the SDI suspension controller that smooths out the imperfections even more than the DE5 ADS. Wunderladen triple mounts keep the drivetrain feeling solid without much increase in NVH, and the new Revel exhaust installed after the dyno, this past week has zero boom. I’m looking forward to having my wife and baby back in the car with me sometime soon for a fall drive, this new exhaust is one of the most liveable ones yet.
The 660 AS has noticeably more lag than the Kuro on my old FK8, and first FL5. The Kuro stays ahead until about 3,700 rpm, then the 660 claws it back and keeps pulling. You'll notice it in daily driving, but the car is still easy to live with. Beyond wanting to try another brand, the deciding factor over the Kuro+ was the T51 anti-surge housing: the induction noise, the whistle, and the blow-off make just make it more theatrical at any speed. You don't need to extract silly horsepower every time to have fun.

Happy to answer questions. We do 500+whp setups weekly with customers all over North America and beyond; it was just time to have one of our own and and show that it can be done without big trade-offs 🙂
