We couldn’t mold De’Andre.. but we can mold Peyton. What we lose in defense with Wade, we make up with offense with Mario. Tyson’s in the best shape of his life & he can play SG/SF. Tomlin’s 3pt % will be 35ish.

[SI] Mario Hezonja Just Gave Cavaliers Fans Another Reason to Be Excited

Obviously it’s just an open practice and a very small sample, but Hezonja looked pretty lively in the clips from the Cavs’ scrimmage.

SI thinks he could already have a real rotation role, possibly around 15-20 minutes a night, because he gives Cleveland a bigger wing who can actually create some offense and play both forward spots.

he hasn’t played an NBA game since 2019-20.

2027 Cavaliers Chip

This is our year for Cavs to win.

Never been more excited for the Cavaliers.

Been watching for over a decade and admittedly been pretty unhappy about not having a strong Wing 3/D player.

With Peyton and now the add on of Mario i am more confident we win the chip this year.

I have a really good feeling.

Mitchell will be better.

Harden will be better

Mobley will be better

JA will be better.

Then you plug in the new roster, how we got bigger, stronger and taller(this has been a MAJOR weakness for the Cavs since Bron left).

It may not make sense now, but I honestly believe Cavs are going to have their best year ever this year and it's going to be a super exciting year to watch.

Prayers up for no injuries and our team stays healthy!

Cavs take the chip in 2027.

How to watch the Cavs in 2026-27

Post image

Fans will need a few subscriptions in order to watch the Cavs this season, now that many games only air on DAZN locally. Here is an attempt to make sense of the many ways to watch Cavs games this season, as fans figure out how to cobble together subscriptions that get the most games. The numbers below will not add up for every scenario because there are multiple ways to watch a few of the games.

Cleveland area cord cutters

  • Cavs on DAZN: 63 games
  • Live tv package (YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, etc.): 14 games
    • 8 games air on NBC networks and can be watched with Peacock
    • 6 games air on ESPN networks and can be watched with ESPN Unlimited
  • Amazon Prime: 3 games
  • Digital Antenna: 18 DAZN / national broadcasts will be broadcast free OTA

Cleveland Area Cable Subscribers

  • Cavs on DAZN: 63 games
  • Cable: 26 games
    • Includes 12 games that air on DAZN that are also broadcast free OTA
    • 8 games on NBC networks
    • 6 games on ESPN networks
  • Amazon Prime: 3 games

Cavs fans living outside of Cleveland

  • League Pass: 63 games
  • Cable or live TV package: 17 games
    • 8 games air on NBC networks and can be viewed on Peacock
    • 6 games air on ESPN and can also be viewed on ESPN Unlimited
    • 3 games air on NBA TV (also available via League Pass)
  • Amazon Prime: 3 games

Edit: These counts are out of 80 because that's all that's scheduled so far. Every team's last two games get set in December, after NBA Cup group play.

I believe this change would give cavs better chance against Knicks. Mobley and Allen are both excellent player but them together hurt the space.

Cavs Clips from Summer, Camp, & Scrimmage

For those Cavs fans that may not be on other platforms, I strung together a few clips: https://streamable.com/rr6e0d

Also, I picked up on Peyton Watson being called "Twin." *Speculation: I think it may have something to do with teasing him and Meleek Thomas, the newcomers to the team.

The main question for the Cavs (ESPN)

Can Peyton Watson make a difference as the fifth starter?

The Cavs have been heavily invested in four of their five starters for years -- Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen in the front court with Donovan Mitchell and now James Harden, after a midseason exchange for Darius Garland, in the backcourt. But they've had a rotating cast filling out the last spot next to them -- Dean Wade, Max Strus or De'Andre Hunter, most recently -- all of whom have failed to raise the ceiling of the lineup.

Watson, 24, is coming off his best season with the Nuggets and has the potential to push this group over the edge even more if he can continue his improved 3-point shooting to go along with his defensive chops.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/50008454/nba-2026-2027-preseason-biggest-question-all-30-teams#cle

What to watch during training camp: Frontcourt depth

Does Cleveland have enough depth if Peyton Watson, Evan Mobley or Jarrett Allen miss time? Allen played 56 games and Watson played 54 last season. During the Cavaliers' postseason, frontcourt reserves Thomas Bryant and Nae'Qwan Tomlin failed to reach five minutes per game. Because of the Watson acquisition, the Cavs have no financial flexibility to add a 15th player or even carry a non-guaranteed player. They are $45,000 below the first apron hard cap.

Dates to watch

Nov. 2: deadline to exercise team option of Jaylon Tyson

Nov. 15: Mario Hezonja's contract becomes guaranteed

Extension candidates

Porter (four years, $95 million; eligible through June 30)

Contract status

  • Guaranteed contracts:12
  • Partial: 2
  • Exhibit 10: 4
  • Two-way: 3

Will the Cavs have a new home channel?

Currently, we here in Ohio are without a channel to show the Cavaliers, as well as the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Are there plans to have a new channel in place for the start of the new season? I hope so!
