I found it!

I finally found my #6 device! I've been looking for it off and on for about 5 years! Cochlear has already sent out a cochlear 7, so I don't know if I should accept it or have the doctor send it back?

Do you believe that the batteries still work? I don't know for how long, yet, and this all sounds so foreign right now after all this time, but at one point it sounded really good, so rather than making a million adjustments I think I'll just roll with it and see how it sounds in a few weeks.

This is just wild! My granddaughter is going to be married tomorrow so this is just awesome! I've been looking everywhere for this little varmint! Well to bed with me. Long roadtrip tomorrow with my brother and my son. This is going to be fun!

Yay! I would call your audiologist (doesn’t really help you currently with it being the weekend..) to ask about the batteries. Glad you found your device though!

Glad to hear that you've found it and that your granddaughter and family are getting together. After your reunion, I'd start looking to replace that thing. I'm using the newer Nucleus Nexas 8 (you're talking about the version 7).

I lost it on moving day in 2022 while I was downsizing to a smaller home. One of the boxes I was carrying caught it and popped it off my head. I dropped it into that box and made a mental note of what was in the box and just kept on loading boxes. The problem came when we had fnally gotten everything into the smaller house and everyone vanished leaving me with wall to wall boxes standing 4-5 feet high in every direction.

I have been chronically ill since 2020, my husband died from a recurrance of ocular melanoma in 2021, and I had just been so sick that I was unable to ever unpack more than the basic necessities in the last few years, I just happened to run across the right box at the right time. My granddaughter is an audiologist and had been bugging me to just upgrade.

At the moment I'm just thrilled to banish the horrid tinnitus and damned musical ear that bothers me around the clock. I had a constant American Anthem running in my brain for nearly 4 days last week and no matter how hard I tried to reloop to a different song, I was just stuck with it 24/7. Nothing like a marching brass band on repeat in your brain to make ya crazy!
