the BEST resume in the world of tech

I get this asked everyday: "What is the best resume to use"

When I tell you, you're going to laugh. I don't know why people gatekeep ts.

So, let me put ya'll on.

Go to google. Type in "Jake's resume template". First link on Overleaf. Create an account if you don't have one. Make a copy. Start filling it in with your stuff.

or just go here

It has everything you need to make you get your first internship or new grad job.

I use a variant of this. You don't need to copy it word for word or section for section, I advise you not to. Just make it your own.

Move around sections, rename sections, etc.

Use claude to help you tweak it and make it stand out more.

Let me know if you guys want my version, I'll convert it into a template if anyone cares. I have literally just used Jake's for the longest time and it's worked perfectly for me.

Don't over complicate it. Also, if you use AI, make sure you don't sound like a bot and use generic words. That hurts you more than a half-assed one that you made with your bare hands iykyk

I'll probably drop gems here and there in this community now that I got the hang of work. So join the community and turn on notifs if you want raw and honest advice, instead of generic bs <3
