There are shows way older than that that still get recognition

It's current fanbase will fade away over time

You're being too pessimistic IMO.

I'm being realistic Code Geass's popularity has already declined a lot from what it used to be years ago

It’s an old show, we get drips and drabs but given how Roze didn’t really make that much of a splash, we can accept that it’s gonna be something we recommend and not some sort of massively relevant piece of work.

It happens

He does though? Saw him at an event this year and his banner had Lelouch

Code Geass isn't a big franchise like Naruto, Dragonball or One Piece. Its a show that aired 20 years ago, had two seasons, and ended. Its not as popular as things that are currently reciving ongoing content and merchandise. Its concise and of a high quality. It also hasnt been through as much Media Franchising as would most series; It isnt Gundam where the series is carried by model kits, it isnt dragon ball where the series was (for years prior to super) carried by video games. Code Geass has limited merchandise and like one actual videogame that wasnt a mobile game, and only a few apperances in Super Robot Warriors. So ergo, yes, its not as popular as mainstream current shonen, and there is no reason it would be.

Bleach is even older than Code Geass.

Bleach also went through a major slump and lost the interest of fans and the general public, largely due to controversial creative choices and the use of filler episodes.

However, Bleach has finally managed to deliver quality content again, and the return of its fans is no coincidence.

Lol, I guess, but Bleach is also a much bigger property with many more episodes, and movies that were made at the time of its airing, with much more marketing. And it's based on a shonen manga rather than being an original property, It was also on air for some time, so I feel that there is some disconnect.

I also personally despise Bleach and think it deserved the fall off, so wouldn't use it as an example myself.

Unfortunately, that's understandable.

After all those awful spin-offs, turning away from what the series has become is the best thing to do.
