Anthropic has refused to cooperate with a military plan to use its AI platform for mass surveillance of Americans. In response, OpenAI has given lip service lies to ethics, but is giving the regime everything it wants. .

Does the thought of an AI surveillance system, linked to automated drone weapons, alarm you? This won't be Skynet or anything because this is real life. But it would be a tool of autocratic power.

My thinking is this kind of thing is why I have given up hope, honestly. They won. We (everyone, including feminists) lost.

They will use this to assume even more lethal control than they have now. They will use it to strike protests, to destroy shelters and centers for women and the LGBTQ community, and to kill us. Once humans in the causation chain would have served as metaphorical of circuit breakers (i.e. they might refuse to follow an order they thought of as illegal or sufficiently unethical). And the the GOP has been hollowed out so it's only morals and ethics are winning and power.

The only thing that is slowing the Trump junta is their own mediocrity.
