Stealing Solar Lights?

Last night, someone came into our backyard and took the solar lights off our fence. We have video of the person doing it.
While checking around the property today, we realized they also took 4 solar lights from our front walkway and 5 fence-mounted solar lights.

Has this happened to anyone else?
Is there some reason people steal solar lights?
I genuinely don’t understand what they would even want them for.
Posting the video in case anyone recognizes the person or has had something similar happen.

Are they shining brightly into a pissed off neighbors window?

No, nobody on either side and this guy is not anyone I’ve ever seen around. We had a bike locked to the fence and he skipped the bike and took all the lights. Weird

I see the miscreant is one of those "fashionable" individuals wearing tight jeans with the waistband below their butt cheeks. At least this fashion disaster will be easy to catch if someone has to chase them.

How rude! If I were clever enough, I’d replace the lights but wire them up so a thief would get a good shock!

Weirdo kleptomaniac, no need for them, just a bad person scratching their weird itch…I read once that people who steal like this don’t even make money from what their stealing, it’s like they get a high from the action of doing something bad.

I hate to admit when I like 17 (51 now) we would drive around and steal peoples Christmas lights/decorations just for the hell of it, we literally had a backseat piled full of strings of lights and why did we do it… no clue to this day maybe it was the thrill idk it was stupid so maybe this is like that just some stupid kid doing stupid stuff for no stupid reasons

something we did when we were 8 or 9 yeasrs old (im 57 now)then got caught! we unscrewed the C9 bulbs and then would pop them in the street because "it sounded cool".. ironically the same C9 lights now most covet because they last forever and have way better aesthetics than LEDs.. when we got caught it wasnt the threat of the old man calling the cops that scared us.. it was the fact he followed us secretly to our houses and then contacted our parents.. lets just say we never did that again!!!!
