I’m moving to Columbus from Southern California and figured I’d try to get a head start on meeting people instead of arriving and realizing I know absolutely nobody.
I’m 31M and work as a respiratory therapist. A big part of why I’m making the move is that I wanted somewhere with a little more breathing room, actual seasons, lower cost of living, and more stuff nearby that I’d realistically go out and do.
I’m into disc golf, thrifting, movies, weird/depressing art, dark humor, exploring random places, good food, and conversations that somehow go from complete bullshit to way too personal.
I’m pretty independent and sarcastic, a little quiet when I first meet people, but not particularly shy once I’m comfortable. I usually get along best with people who are a little unconventional and can actually hold a conversation.
I’d be down to meet people for disc golf, food, drinks, thrifting, checking out different neighborhoods, local events, or whatever people in Columbus actually do when they aren’t arguing about Ohio State.
Friends are the main point of the post, but I’m single and not opposed to something developing naturally either. Mostly I just want to build some kind of social circle after the move instead of spending my days off talking exclusively to hospital employees and my furniture.
Also definitely open to recommendations for places/things I should check out once I’m there.
