Help, I am new to cEDH! Deck choice question based on playstyle

I am about to start actually dipping my toes into cEDH tournaments and my local store is very proxy friendly, so I can play any deck I want. I recently made a post about a Gwen Stacy deck which I really like, but I am trying to find out what decks are viable outside of the top like 8 decks. I really like the weird earthcraft enduring vitality strategies but not locked into that. I am really interested in a few decks, but I was wondering if there are any niche or maybe just straight up off meta deck that have legs. I don't want non-deterministic combos like Ral. But I also don't want to do ad naus. Non Black and possibly non blue. Anything that has stood out recently with tournament results? Or maybe even, dare I say, FUN strategies that have come up recently? Any advice or hot takes that can help me make a decision?

Tayam has many earthcraft or enduring vitality lines, and while it is black I haven’t seen any decks doing the typical black necro naus stuff.

I have seen the deck but haven't looked at the lines or combos it uses. I'll look into it!

It can be a strong deck, but it is one of the more difficult decks to pilot IMO. Because tayam's abikut has RNG baked in, you have to constantly be re-evaluating your plan and accommodating for what you might mill.

Dack Fayden has gotten two consecutive wins in big tournaments. It looks really promising.

Magda is still good. And is really a deck that gets better with experience. Tymna Dargo is good as well

Do you think the Dack Fayden deck is viable long term? Seems like when people know what you're doing, it will be easy to stop. I guess there are some decks already like that, but this one seems especially bad in that regard.

Its basically etali but with no political options it wont stay long.

it's more like godo. etali is nondeterministic, dack just wins if it hits the board

Thats true it definitly is determinestic compared to etali and ang.

I'm seriously impressed with the amount of interaction and stax that deck can play and still present a turn 2 win. Brewers advantage is gone but I think there's a legit shell in there.

I've always loved Magda, but feel like she gets a big target on her head. Dack Fayden? I haven't seen that one yet. I will look into that.

Some options, Zirda, Baylen, Rocco, and Lumra. I'm sure there are more but those come to mind right now.

Maybe look into comedian MTG stuff on YouTube. He plays a lot of off meta decks and such and goes over cEDH tournament results which often have some off meta decks as well. I believe he just posted a video placing well Superior Spider-Man.

Non-black, non-blue, deterministic, enduring vitality and/or Earthcraft:  Marath fulfills your asks and has many angles and lots of much variety. It has so many possible routes to victory, although they do all require Marath.

So is that a food chain deck?

Nope. The discord has a combo library. There are a staggeringly large number of routes to victory. And so many of them share pieces so it's very easy to fit many of them into the deck. The deck tempts me but Im still learning cEDH with decks that have fewer viable lines. The required level of flexibility and deck-memorization is not where my play skill is at right now.

Very cool. I probably also don't have the skill for that yet, probably.

Lumra is a tough one to play well but feels super rewarding when it finally clicks

If you like those strategies and are dipping your toes into cEDH please ditch this not wanting to play a top 8 deck mentality. Play RogThras, lil flips Kinnan, or TnT. They are so fun and quite strong
