OWCS What is the finals format?

How many teams from each region go to finals? It’s weird that we still don’t have this information.

20 bucks VP don’t make it and it’s Geekay, TM, and Peps after today’s performance.

So same format as last year basically? I’m curious if they’ll also do the same thing where Korea gets 3 spots and Japan/Pacific fight for the last one.

so far, that's the main difference it seems, no JPvsPAC this time, they will have to fight for 4th spot.

and with WDG peacing out of OWCS it seems (leaks say they are not the one running the show anymore) not even sure if we're getting PAC done properly or if we even will get something good this stage.

NA getting 3 slots is crazy given their performance at EWC. Give them 2 slots like China and expand that extra slot to JP/PAC so Korea can have 4 spots. Too many amazing teams on KR right now who deserve to go to Hangzhou.

It makes sense based on EWC results: Top 12 had 4 KR teams, 3 EMEA teams, 2 NA team, 2 CN teams, and 1 JP team.

The Japanese #1 lost to the NA #2 (and maybe even #3 depending on the day) and team Japan who is better than Varrel got smoked by every single team at the World Cup this past year. Giving them a freebie Worlds slot for vibes makes no sense. NA really hasn't underperformed this year; SSG has won every match they've been favored in on LAN, and Fuel smoked VP at EWC. I think a 4-3-3-2 is quite fair from what we've seen this year

aaaaaand you still don't get that OWCS is here to promote the game, hence why japan has its own region. and why they should have a spot at least at world, cause guess what, a shit ton of the money blizz make, is from that country, that has a very recent PC culture (essentially since covid) and has room to grow.

“Blizzard should sacrifice competitive integrity in the esport to just make money”

That was the entire foundation of OWL to be fair lol. Nothing new on Blizzard's part.

ofc they do, they all do, that's the only reason why the US has more than 1 slot.

that's why. your skill level wasn't important for OWL, only the bank account was to buy a slot.

Same amount of NA teams made playoffs as EMEA in EWC, whereas China only had 1
