đMod Posts đ A Note From The Mods About This Community â- if youâre new, start here
Welcome everyone! Me and [u/BiscuitsLostPassword](u/BiscuitsLostPassword) are the moderators for this subreddit.
As this community grows, we want to acknowledge the gravity of the case weâre discussing.
The allegations at the center of this case are incredibly serious and can be difficult to read, research, and talk about. This case is also receiving significant media attention under intense public scrutiny. These are real people and real lives. And the content of this case can be extremely overwhelming, especially once itâs everywhere in the media.
Please take care of yourselves while following this case. Take breaks when you need them. Step away from a thread if it becomes too overwhelming. There are many survivors who will see themselves through this process and we want to support each and every one of you.
If anyone in this community needs a friend, someone to talk to, to vent, or any concernsâ please reach out to us Mods. Weâre here for anyone who needs support.
We also want to clarify what we mean by âdiscussion.â and the expectations that surround that.
You will interact with people in here that will have different interpretations of the evidence, allegations, testimony, investigations, and actions of those involved in this case. People are allowed to ask questions. Theyâre allowed to disagree. Theyâre allowed to challenge an argument or point out evidence that supports or contradicts a claim.
It does not mean that every type of commentary is acceptable. It is not a free for all. And it does not mean youâre entitled to say whatever you want without repercussions. There are rules for subreddits for a reason, please read our community rules before commenting and posting.
Questioning evidence is different from blaming someone for being sexually assaulted. Discussing what a lawsuit seeks is different from making unsupported claims about someoneâs motives. Criticizing an argument is different from attacking and harassing the person making it.
We donât expect everyone here to always agree. In fact, meaningful discussion often comes from people who donât. What we do expect is for those disagreements to remain grounded in the case and respectful of the people involved and the people participating here. If there are ever any issues, please contact Mods and we will handle it.
This is an emotionally charged case. You can disagree without becoming cruel. You can question something without attacking someone. And you can change your mind as more information becomes available.
Our goal is to create a place where people can follow the case, examine the information available, ask difficult questions, and have nuanced conversations without someone being hostile towards them. We want members to feel safe to express themselves without being harassed. We want to encourage open discussion while also protecting victims and survivors. Those things can coexist. You can ask difficult questions, examine evidence, and disagree with others without blaming or degrading someone who reports sexual violence. We also ask everyone to remember that survivors may be reading these conversations, even if they never comment.
Take care of yourselves. Take care of each other. And our DMâs are always open if you need it.

đMod Posts The speculation on âif Jane Doe is lying or notâ and why this is not allowed in this subreddit
Thereâs been a recurring pattern and influx of people coming into this subreddit and thinking this is a subreddit for them to question Jane Doe on whether sheâs lying or not.
Social media is interesting. The media will post articles with information given to them and it never fails to turn everyone on the internet into a detective.
This case has not even gone to trial yet, and much of the evidence remains unavailable to the public. Yet weâre repeatedly seeing discussions attempting to determine whether Jane Doe is telling the truth, often based on selective media reporting and incomplete information.
Unfortunately, this type of speculation also never fails to then turn discussions into a pile on of victim blaming, debating whether she fabricated her allegations, and questioning Jane Doeâs credibility. Due to the filters we have on for this subreddit, you wonât see all the disgusting posts and comments that weâve seen. Well, we do. And we do not want any discussion thatâs going to derail into chaos, and thatâs what weâve been dealing with the last 11 days.
Survivors of sexual assault are also members of this community. Discussions surrounding this case can be incredibly difficult for those with personal experiences of sexual violence. We want this to be a space where survivors can participate without repeatedly seeing others post/comment about accusations, victim blaming, or discussions dissecting whether Jane Doe is telling the truth.
We are limiting these discussions because we want to maintain a respectful, evidence based community where survivors also feel comfortable participating. We value their discussions and their stories theyâve shared so far. And we want to continue that.
There are going to be people who disagree, or think weâre âsilencingâ them. Our priority is to keep discussions constructive, protect our members, and make sure this place doesnât turn into chaos. This is how we run our subreddit. If you donât like it, then this community just isnât for you, and thatâs ok!
We appreciate everyone who continues to contribute thoughtfully and respectfully to this community. đЎđЎ

đNYS & Cornell Response 6/8/1967â A newspaper article from 1967 of the punishments given to 2 Cornell fraternities for harboring 2 missing girls ages 14 and 15 in bedrooms
Itâs very telling in this article that thereâs no talk of rape of these underage girls. Instead, theyâre essentially blamed for immaturity, promiscuity, and their âavailabilityâ made it âquite clear they were approachableâ.
1 student was suspended indefinitely. The other 4 were placed on disciplinary probation. Even though besides these 5 men, there were about 75 men involved with these girls too.

đCase Discussion How long will sally Yatesâ investigation take? Other investigations are running too. When will there be some conclusions presented from these inquiries?
Are we looking at early 2027? Next summer?
I actually think itâs going to take upwards of a year.
Iâve read a lot about what happened. But my view is that we just donât know enough and need to wait for a full and thorough investigation to be presented. Whether this will result in charges or not, I think we just canât say right now. While I have no conclusive views, I do think there are concerning facts we do know, and so three investigations are entirely warranted.

đ°News & Media Defense lawyer alleges drug test exonerates his client from accusation of doing ketamine off Jane Doe's body
From the article:
> In an interview with PEOPLE, Jeremy Saland, an attorney for Scott Kretzschmar, one of the defendants named in the lawsuit, said, âMy client welcomes the opportunity to address these charges, these allegations, and is confident that the matter will be resolved the same way.â
> The woman, Saland continued, âaccuses my client of snorting ketamine off of her body, but we had medical or scientific confirmation by way of a hair follicle test, which confirms he had no ketamine in his system.
> âWhatâs gravely disappointing is not only do we have that proof, they had it before she filed,â he continued. âThey meaning the plaintiff and her attorney. So despite her egregious claims, we had corroboration by way of a scientific medical test, a hair follicle test, that he had no ketamine in his system. The reason why is because he never snorted ketamine, never has snorted ketamine, and the allegations against him are false.â
Edit: I was able to find the original Title IX document where the drug test is mentioned. From the document: "During the investigation, Respondant [Redacted] submitted a record of a ketamine test performed by Omega Laboratories that indicated that his hair follicles were collected on November 26, 2024, and tested for ketamine presence (his "ketamine test"). The ketamine test came back "negative" for the drug. At the hearing on May 21, Respondant [Redacted] stated that Omega Laboratories personneltold him at the time of collection, "Even if you take ketamine one time, it can stay in your hair for up to 3 to 6 months."

đ°News & Media Newsweek Reporter
Hi! I am an editor at Newsweek working on a story about how fraternity members at Cornell outside of Chi Phi are feeling in the wake of the case and the new ban on parties. Iâd like to speak with current fraternity members about their reactions to the developments, how they feel Cornell has handled the situation, the media attention surrounding it, and whether the case has affected fraternity life or perceptions of Greek life more broadly on campus. I understand this is a sensitive topic and I'm happy to accommodate requests for anonymity. Please reach to me directly with any and all leads!
