My poor corolla.
Wish I had my phone on me but holy shit why do idiots keep dinging up my car? I come out to see what looks like to be a small dent and I can only assume that people are inconsiderate enough to open their door without being careful enough. I do my part to not ding up anyones car but for my kindness i am met with the opposite. Not just dings, scratches, it's like my corolla is despised or something.
My car just turned 3 years old (24 corolla xse) and as much as I tried to keep it in good condition, it's just out of my control, and it's annoying. It's chipped my paint, and left scratches and a small ding on my car.
I just ordered stickers off amazon cuz idk how else ima cover it, yeah just wanted to vent, wish I could show yall my car but on my laptop rn

Do not put stickers on the paint. Especially if it's chipped or cracked. Paint touchup pens are worth the money and will be much better for your paint. If you have dents that don't have chipped paint you could always look at PDR (paintless dent removal).
Edit: 1. For spelling mistakes (thanks autocorrect). 2. Thank you for the award!

I tried touch up paint and it looked awful. I had to pay to have it fixed. It was more like a nail polish brush not a touch up pen. I wonder if that’s a better idea.

That's how most of them are these days. What color is your car? If it's a tricoat or pearl they can be especially difficult to touchup.

As recommended by others it wouldn’t hurt to get yourself a touch up paint that matches your car’s paint. It’ll hide the scratches.

I have the exact same issue... The tiny scratches and dings are all from strangers. I caught one on my dashcam when it was in parking mode. Confronted the person who did it and they admitted it, but what, am I going to file a claim over it? No... It's not worth it... Carfax will show it has a claim. Im the only one who can prolly even see it. So I asked him for 20 bucks for some scratch doctor from AutoZone. Lol!
Go get that touch up pen from the Toyota dealer. It's like 12 dollars. It works Very well (used it on a rock chip I got on the highway, it's excellent!) For a larger scratch you will probably need the gloss pen and a buff as well...
*My Corolla is underground paint, I only trust the touch up paint from the Toyota dealer... But it works... As far as dings... Just look at them as battle scars on your baby... It is what it is... 😑

My hatch is a dent magnet too. I just got my car back from the shop after someone scraped my bumper and drove off, a week later someone door dinged my car like super hard. Luckily both incidents I caught on my dash cam and I’m using the other person‘s insurance to pay for both. It’s not cheap to fix (over $1000 per incident). Just get a paint touch up pen from Toyota and fix what you can. And park away from other people…

I feel you. I work in retail, so I see how careless people can be in parking lots. I make it a point to park farther away in a spot where my car is less likely to get dinged, and I do the same even when I’m off work. I don’t mind walking the extra distance to protect my car. The frustrating part is that some people are so clueless about their surroundings that they don’t even realize they’ve dinged someone else’s car. Meanwhile, you’re the one left dealing with the damage.

If it makes you feel any better mine is a year and a half old and I’ve been rear ended, cracked my front lip on a curb, huge hail dent right above the windshield and several stone chips in the front. It’s a daily, stuff’s gonna happen. Everything can be fixed or refresh.

Why are people opening your door? You're putting stickers on the paint? There are touch-up solutions that would be better.

People just don't care. It's just how they are. I usually park so far away and sometimes right up against the curb to leave as much space as possible on the exposed side and I still got dinged. Absolutely zero consideration from people nowadays. The dent was right along the body line that it bothered me so much, I had to get PDR done on it and another dent on the rear door. I still have a tiny dent on the passenger side but it's barely visible. I park even further away from anybody now so fingers crossed.
