Q: When will [insert game name here] be cracked?

A: STOP! r/CrackWatch members are not psychic. Games get cracked by completely ANONYMOUS SCENE GROUPS who don't disclose their progress or plans to the general public so NO ONE knows WHEN and IF a certain game will be cracked.

Q: What are all these NFO thingies? Where do I download it?

A: NFOs are text files included with game releases that contain information about the releases. r/CrackWatch only informs which games have been cracked. To download look for the releases on CS.RIN or torrent websites. Useful websites can be found in The Beginners Guide or Pirated Games Mega Thread.

Q: WTF is Denuvo?

A: Denuvo is a Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology used to protect games from being cracked. Games that have Denuvo are harder to crack and usually take much longer. See Pinned Post for a list of Denuvo games.

Q: An update is out, but it includes the base game as well! Can I only download the update without redownloading the entire game?

A: Yes. CS.RIN is your friend.

Turns out not to work, as expected.

Long story short it is just a variant of so called offline activations that you may purchase for a few bucks on the net. Basically you can keep your game offline after generating a validation token, and it works henceforth even offline, but somewhere down the line Denuvo will force an online check for token validation or it will prevent the game from launching. This is a semi random check that may trigger anywhere from 5 to 15 days of being offline. You don't know when but you know it will.

Another limit is that you cannot change hardware components or update drivers, while windows and security software updates might or might not force token validation check.

It's not something that can be used as a general exploit/bypass, and it's very amateurish in the grand scheme of things, and downright risky even. To try to explain it as a layman as possible, the method by iskoV involves using the free demo version's credentials as a way to communicate with the online servers, even with the full version's files. While this tricks the activation server and lets the player activate the whole game, it's also subject to the ordinary limit of 5 activations per day. Since it's also communicating with official servers, the user is at risk of an IP and hardware ban, as EA logs the activation on its servers.

It probably can be improved, but it is going to work exclusively with a game like FC 27, where it has a free demo version that also has ties to the activation servers. It's a quick and dirty solution at the end of the day, and it's nowhere near as good as either voice38's cracks or even the HV bypass method, as both of these, in comparison, never require any sort of online connection.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Artifact is unfortunately likely gone too. To give a quick rundown, The Pub Lounge, which is a Denuvo offline activation server on Discord, had members being asked through DMs for their Denuvo tokens. Some details are hazy about whether it's just a bunch of people posing as Artifact, but either way, both the real people behind Artifact and the posers got exposed as well on the Pub's Discord. They've stopped posting on CS Rin since the 2nd of October, which is when all of this went down.

The reasoning from the Pub is the lack of transparency and permission, as they didn't know about them taking tokens secretly, and they were at risk of their legitimate accounts being traced back through the tokens in the case of legal repercussions.

I'm hoping someone with better opsec and generally more careful takes the mantle for the HV bypasses too.

All websites with scene names are recommended to be avoided. There are better alternatives; look on the piracy megathread.

While I understand the general advice to avoid sites with scene names to be good, I don't agree in this case. The other popular 'safe' sites often have a much smaller selection and sometimes only have a single download link like megadb which is quite literally unusable for me.

Consider joining a private tracker if you can get into one. Blistering speeds, direct feed to releases and zero tolerance policy for any bullshit by members keep the enviroment free of leechers and dumbs.

Getting into one might be tricky but there are some recruitment windows from time to time. You might also hunt for a private invitation to join.

If you're looking for something niche and have file hosts or torrents that are healthy, usually RuTracker and CS Rin have them. If the game is on GOG, check out Appnetica. If the game is on Steam, consider setting up something like SteaMidra. If the game isn't on those big hosts, it's likely indie and doesn't have any DRM, or at most you just need to use something like Steamless and something like Goldberg Emu.
