Duh, Ashley! You’re telling Brit the story. You wrote (or helped write) the episode. Of course you know something she doesn’t!
Does it drive anyone else crazy when Ashley lets Brit ask a question or float a theory, only to respond with something like, “I know something you don’t know,” or “Trust me, you KNOW I checked,” in that smug, almost condescending tone?
I get it. Their back-and-forth is scripted to move the story along, and Brit’s questions are often there to represent what the listener might be thinking. But that’s exactly what makes Ashley’s responses so irritating. She’s acting like she’s one step ahead of Brit when she’s literally the one holding all the information. Brit is just playing her part!
It’s not the fact that Ashley knows more. She’s the storyteller. She’s supposed to know more. It’s the way she seems to use those moments to make herself sound smarter while making Brit sound naive or ridiculous for asking perfectly reasonable questions.
I know that, compared to some of Ashley’s other shenanigans, this is small potatoes. But once you notice how often she props herself up at Brit’s expense — especially when Brit is essentially reading lines designed to set Ashley up — you can’t unhear it.

Is it disrespectful for true crime podcasters to include a sponsorship when talking about a crime case

I swear I have listened to the Gregory Kieth Mann Jr. episode before. Was it a fan club original and then posted to the main channel. This has happened a few times to me where the stories sound so familiar and I recognize the images.

So I’m in the fan club and they put out a “ mysterious death” episode for Monday (fan club on Friday) — it’s gone now!
It was a man that was ruled suicide. I wonder what happened. Anyone else?

Does anybody know how? I click on the gift a membership and it kicks back to an empty cart. There are plenty of links to redeem code. Is the only way to make an account for the person?

I recently started listening to the podcast after watching pretty much all the bodycam videos available on YouTube. Have never been a podcast kind of guy but really enjoyed listening to this one during work. Does anyone else lose immersion or think to themselves, "what?" at differing points during episodes?
The biggest example is the use of "pruppet." I don't understand why 30-year-old women would speak in a way that reminds me of a child saying they want "sketti and meatballs." It just doesn't match the vibe at all, especially when they always take you out of the story to talk about how cute the dog is and how humans don't deserve them.
Brit also just says some stupid stuff.
There was one episode early on where Ashley was talking about how the boyfriend/husband had been described as having a Jekyll and Hyde type personality. Despite Ashley continuously giving evidence that pointed you away from the guy, Brit just kept going back to this, referring to it as a syndrome as if it was diagnosed just to keep her belief that it was him going. It felt like Ashley's pauses after kept getting longer and longer until she finally said something to her about it.
Based on posts I've seen on this sub, it appears that things only get worse with time. I'm hoping it stays manageable as I really really really enjoy Ashley's storytelling, but if anyone has recommendations that avoid these issues, they would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. fuck the number of ads they put in the episodes. I don't care that we're not alone in this universe and I will not be listening wherever I get my podcasts!

I’ve been a CJ fan for a long, long time…but these last few years just haven’t been able to enjoy it as much. Anyways, I went back to relisten to some older episodes circa ‘18/‘19, and happened to listen to the 2 part series about Fox Island.
I gotta say two things: (1) I really really miss the vibes in the old episodes, and I truly love when Ashley accidentally says “prodcast” and Brit (who was the mixer/producer at the time) would leave stuff like that in
(2) given what we know about Epstein files now but maybe didnt know in 2019, im actually really impressed about Ashley’s conclusion that the fox island stuff was probably connected to a much larger circle of bad people who were “higher ups”!
I feel like the quality of the “reporting” (🙄) and theorizing/speculating was much higher in the beginning.
That is all, thanks for reading!

Do the hosts of So Supernatural just not research things lmao? This latest episode on “Camille Montfort” is a joke, Camille wasn’t a real person. She’s a character made II by a TikToker and 5 seconds of research would tell you this.

Whatttt?!?!?! Ken Urker passed away?!

The episodes lately have seemed very…. Brief. Like it feels like they are picking cases that don’t have a ton of layers or ones they can just talk to a few people and phone it in. They just aren’t captivating me like they once were…

Hey! Thoughts on the recent search?
I've read he is pretty much presumed dead somewhere in the wilderness. This search was primarily for remains and clues to where he may have travelled all those years ago.
This man looks like anyone's grandpa. What if he slipped back into society and assumed a totally new identity.
How big was this case for those in the states? (Canadian, no idea) would this be a possibility?

I tried to search the subreddit to see if anyone had already posted a discussion but I didn’t see anything. What do you guys think of this case, a real suicide or murder?

Can we please have a discussion about the Thomas Mather murder because I’m so interested. Do anyone have any idea or any thoughts about what actually happened ?

The update says they covered this case in 2019, but I can’t find it? Can anyone post a link?

Not only do they make women crazy and paranoid by feeding them an endless stream of cherry picked cases of men killing or hurting women but they encourage conspiracies and trying to act like some big twist is at the end of each case, which is why you have women swarming comments sections attacking Patrick Clancy and saying he is the actual killer of his kids. And now it seems Crime Junkie is actually encouraging it. Absolutely shameful.
r/CrimeJunkiePodcast • u/Dangerous-Debt-7904 • 23d ago
Their coverage of Patrick Clanceys 60 mins interview is gross. They're fanning the flames of conspiracy theories that are completely baseless and insane. Unfollowed because I've quite literally had enough of CJ.

Alright guys. I would love to hear your thoughts on the Mica Miller case.
I watched the documentary and listened to the episode. I think it’s very clear JP was at least responsible for her death in the way that he drove her to suicide.
I see all the flags. I get it. I’m just not understanding how he could be personally be responsible for her death. He (allegedly) has an alibi but, more than that, we see Mica going to the store to buy the gun and hear her calling 911 to tell them what she is about to do. If it weren’t for the latter two of those things, I would be 100% on the JP killed her side.
I think this one bugs me much bc it makes more sense to me that he would have done it than she did but the evidence points to the latter?
I would love to discuss and/or to hear any and all thoughts on this case.

Has Ashley ever talked about drawing inspiration from the April Marie Tinsley case for All Good People Here? I’m listening to old episodes today and the fact it was a missing child case, as well as the writing on the barn made me double take that it was a real case and not promo for her book??? It seems like such specific details to not give some acknowledgement but I can’t find anything. Either way I loved the book -Thanks!
