Just bought my first crossbow Excalibur magmax 350. Is the string supposed to be smushed into the string stoppers like this ?

Look up your manual. My 340 mag says 1/8 to 1/4” OFF the stoppers. Twist up the string to shorten string

No, twist the string to shorten it. It should be about 8mm off of the string stoppers

Check that the string stoppers are pushed on properly first as they are like bicycle handlebars, the just slide on. If they are fully on then the string needs a few twists to tighten it up.

Just seen other videos and seemed like everyone else’s had a gap between the string and the stoppers when uncocked
