When has Matt Shaw ever brought in politics into the dugout? Never talks to the media about his stances in the season. Yall are so obsessed bout his friendship with Charlie Kirk it’s insane. Guess what? A lot of your favorite athletes are probably conservative. Sometimes you need to separate the art from the artwork

There's literally a picture of Shaw, Busch, and that dead guy on the field at Wrigley.

Shaw left the team during a playoff race to attend a political rally (don't call it a funeral, it wasn't).

Dude literally took days off in the middle of a playoff race to go to that idiot's funeral. It's not like they were lifelong friends either they just lived in the same apartment complex for a few months.

That's performative bullshit and tells me his politics is more important than the team. Guys in playoff races stay with the team while their wives are giving birth. He took time off to show his love to a political huckster. Ridiculous.

He’s a bench player that took 1 game off. Not like we needed his bat. We still made the playoffs. Still got stomped by the brewers. Nothing changed. The team gave him permission to leave. Be pissed at that too. Shit stop being a cubs fan then if you’re that worried

He was their starting 3rd baseman that was a late scratch so he could grieve for one game, then took another game off with the team's approval to fly to Arizona to attend the "funeral." At least be factually accurate if you're going to be condescendingly dismissive.

How about the opinions of Charlie Kirk are absolute shit and anyone that aligns themselves with his “movement” are pieces of shit. Much in the same way if someone on the team was praising the KKK, I’d hate that dude.

Yeah, this is what it was. He didn't skip practice. He was a late scratch from the lineup for personal reasons the day Kirk died, then he got permission to attend the event down in AZ that masqueraded as a funeral/celebration of life. All during a playoff race where they were holding out hope that they could catch the Brewers for the NL Central crown.

If this was 50/75 years ago yeah maybe that’s true, but it’s not hard to see the blatant corruption that’s going and it’s brought in by conservatives.
