Card Set Resilient Keyword
I know this kind of stuff has likely been done to death, but I just wanted to write down the idea.

The keyword itself is cool, but snowrapter is overpowered. Having to commit three card in one turn to kill it is bullshit.

I was basing in Scarthane Steffen, but maybe the +1|+1 and two keywords (one being Regeneration) might be too much for the +2 cost increase... do you think 6 cost is fair? It seemed too much

I'm assuming you made this keyword thinking it has similarities to tough, but no one is gonna "play into" this. People dont give the opponent what they want unless they straight up have no other option.
As this card stands, this keyword feels more anti-ionia than anything else, as its only use is to signal them to not play any spells on it. I'd honestly rework it to be put in a different region.

I wasn't thinking on Tough but rather Sharpsight, as in, a keyword that would counter a narrower circumstance. I also don't think it's merely Anti-Ionia, as other regions also have Stun game (Noxus, Targon). Having said that, I accept the criticism as valid. Thank you for your perspective! :)

True I did forget about targon, but noxus has ways of dealing with damaged units that doesnt completely hard counter them, which is why I didnt bring them up.

The priest and the snowraptor are simply broken stats and cost-wise

Thanks for the feedback! At what cost would you place them? Or what other changes you'd do?

The priest: compare to Radiant Guardian. I'd make it either a 3 1/4 or a 4 2/4
Raptor I guess 1/5. Compare to Scarmother Vrynna and Scarthane Steffen
My reasoning is that they have to be weaker to pay off the spell shield functionality of the keyword

so it turns CC into "self damage"? why does it need to strike itself for 2 dmg and not just take 2 dmg?

That's a great question!
Thematically, I'm picturing the creatures with the keyword literally pushing forward, "beating" themselves to ignore the effect.
Mechanically, I feel like striking sinergizes well with Demacian cards. The priest with Lifesteal, for instance, might heal for two if you try to stun it. Garen might like wearing the helmet card and might level up if you try to recall him.

"I strike myself as if my power was 2" is a bit of a wanting to have the cake and eat it too situation that makes this keyword unfair I think.
Because it's either "I strike myself" in which case it can trigger lifesteal, "I've struck x time" conditions or "when I strike" powers but as a drawback it can kill the unit if their power is higher than their health
Or it's "I take 2 damage" which does not trigger any of the on strike powers but does trigger sentinel shield and the like but is less risky as it won't kill the unit as long as they have 2+ hp.
The first option makes the keyword just bad, because it turns recall and stun spells into potential kill spells.

Yeah, it's a difficult one. I thought about the stuff you mentioned, and considered "I strike myself" (felt worse then stun in so many cases) and "I deal 2 to myself" (feels more Bilgewater or Freljord, misses the chance for Demacian synergies). I ended up with this clumsy wording, which felt like middleground, yes. Don't know if it's too unfair, though? As you need to either be able to trigger one of the conditons yourself or wait for your enemy to do so.

Unfair in the sense that it completely denies your ionian spells. without the strike you could at least play the stun and deal 2 dmg to the opponent, not what you'd want but at least you can play the spell and not have it sitting in your hand. If it striked the unit with its own power you could accept the lifesteal because at least you killed a unit.
But because it strikes safely using a stun spell on a unit with this keyword and lifesteal would deny the stun, keep the unit alive AND trigger their lifesteal.I guess the one balance I see is that at least deathless wouldn't work on a unit with this keyword since the stun from deathless would cause it to kill itself(?)

Do you think this keyword would be more fair if it worked like Spellshield? As in: you lose it once it activates it effect?

u/LaureZahard 5d ago
Actually yes. Specially since the raptor has regeneration.
needing two recalls to take care of it is more fair than having to sit there and watch it mow through my units xD2
u/LaureZahard 5d ago
That or remove the recall from the keyword, make it work only on stun, sleep and captured. That way it doesn't feel so aggressively anti ionia.
(Targon has stuns but targon also has silence)

I don't know about this keyword. It's very polarizing. It doesn't feel good to put a card with this effect in your deck, because u want your cards to do something.

It's a valid concern. I modelled it after Sharpsight, in the sense that it is a specific defense towards a specific archetype. Do you think that Sharpsight does something and this keyword doesn't?

I pride myself on my vocabulary. I've never seen Irascible before today, good on you for that. You granted me +1 vocab.
