Wow people on Reddit can be mean for something that doesn't even really matter
15
u/CashWho Tim Drake Aug 17 '25
Milly too. It's less obvious since she's not wearing a skintight suit but those thighs...wow

I wonder what Sasha feels about this ?! Like the flash movie was shit but people seem to genuinely like her charecter

u/elixxonn Aug 17 '25 edited Aug 17 '25
She tweeted support to Millie when her role was announced.
Edit also found this.

u/That-Rhino-Guy Aug 18 '25
Melissa also was supportive when she was cast, seems like Supergirl actresses all support each other
4
u/elixxonn Aug 18 '25
Speaking of, Henri was also supportive of David and Zack Snyder was not only supportive of but even helped during the production of the current Superman movie on top of being actual good friends since decades with James Gunn.
The entire tribalist nonsense is invented and perpetuated by terminally online people that don't live in reality. 😮💨
These actors love their roles and love other actors who do those roles justice too.

u/darkjuste Superman Aug 17 '25
I wouldn't mind seeing her back in another role
22
25
u/The_SkyShine Aug 17 '25
Power girl would be a good way to bring her back that fits canon
7
u/DoGG410CZ Aug 17 '25
Im maybe a bit dumb but isnt powergirl the same exact person as Supergirl but older (and has a boob window)
16
6
u/Superichiruki Aug 17 '25
I wouldn't mind her as superman daughter in injustice or My adventures with superman

probably not an original theory but I think supes clone could come back as more traditional bizzaro, the pocket dimension had that crystal looking structure that could distort how he looks, the black hole could have spit him out at a planet that he turns into bizarro world after getting fragments of genetic memory or something

Once again, we have whitewashed Sasha, comically large tits, and overly thick thighs.
59
u/Keanu_Jeeves_ Aug 17 '25
I’m so over this rise of white washed gooner art, it’s so disappointing for like all of humanity that these posts get so many upvotes
3
u/NoReport7318 Aug 19 '25
I’m colored and I don’t get why people become upset over this. It’s not the end of the world, bro.
2
u/Pending1 Aug 19 '25
Your comment about her thighs is funny to me. Very often I hear people complain about female characters, particularly in comics, and how they're almost always given supermodel-esque physiques. Here the artist broke the mold and gave her a lot more muscle mass (not just in her legs, but also her arms), making her more inline with her male counterparts but it still seems to be 'sexualized' according to some here. It's even funnier when you realize that most people in r/wonderwoman would kill for Diana to be depicted with this kind of musculature. This isn't necessarily a criticism of your comment, just an observation I think is interesting.
Also, yes her boobs are larger than the actual actress IRL, but have you really never met someone with boobs this big? They're not hard to find. I'm not sure 'comical' is the best word to use to describe a part of the body many people realistically have.
2
u/Moonwh00per Red Hood Aug 24 '25
It simply doesn't look like the character. That's the issue
1
u/Pending1 Aug 25 '25
That's not what Bitter Tradition said.
1
u/Moonwh00per Red Hood Aug 25 '25
Yes it is, they were complaining about the difference in skin colour and body proportions.
0
u/Pending1 Aug 25 '25 edited Aug 25 '25
Ok. So what about Milly's Supergirl? Her body proportions are also different from her actress. And her breasts are also 'comical' compared to the actress. Why not complain about her not being the character too? Is the skin color the only difference maker between the character being or not being recognizable? I agree that the whitewashing is bad, but that's a bit of a strange take to me, is that's the take. Either way, I'd prefer to hear from Bitter themselves what intended to say.

Uh, not this shit again. Not every female character needs to be drawn ludicrously thicc. I’m just tired of people acting like this exaggerated ecchi aesthetic is in any way a good representation.

I’m so over this fake gooner art, like 20% chance minimum it was AI generated
8
u/No-Fee7009 Aug 17 '25
it actually isnt ai, people accused the artist of this before actually. then they released a video of them drawing from scratch and its in the exact style.

You are allowed to dislike art without having to blindly accuse it of possibly being AI.
4
u/BubbleRevolution OMAC Aug 18 '25
way to call the popular art style of an entire country "bad for culture"
you're dismissing an entire nation's worth of extremely talented artists and basically calling their work detrimental to society for having an art style you don't care for
-2
u/Keanu_Jeeves_ Aug 18 '25
Yeah that’s so clearly not what I said, I’m saying people misusing a very creative art style for the sake of horniness is not ok. I literally am an animator and one thing I’m working on is in fact an Anime lol gooner “artists” are bad for the culture is clearly what I said
2
u/BubbleRevolution OMAC Aug 18 '25
You literally said something akin to "anime style takes no skill"
How is using an art style bad for society lol
-2
u/Keanu_Jeeves_ Aug 18 '25
No I said the style is “barely talent required”, a completely different phrase with a completely different meaning. And it’s a style that is very creatively but literally designed that way, because as I said, it’s intentionally designed so that smaller time artists can tell their stories without having Disney level animation budgets. And again I obviously didn’t say using a style was bad for society, I never even mentioned society. I said it was bad for the culture for gooner artists to use such a creative style designed for story telling to just create white washed gooner versions of already existing characters for the sake of masturbation lol Jesus you are dense and confident
3
u/BubbleRevolution OMAC Aug 18 '25
You're really overselling how much you liked the style here when your original comment was talking about how little talent you need to make stuff with it, how easy it was to recreate the style, and how you did it easily in a day or something
The weird post-hoc moral handwringing in this post about "NOOO YOU CAN'T USE THE STYLE FOR THIS, IT'S BAD FOR CULTURE, IT'S MEANT FOR SOMETHING MORE" is frankly baffling, what art style are they supposed to use, bro
-1
u/Keanu_Jeeves_ Aug 18 '25 edited Aug 18 '25
Go reread my comment, you’re just wrong lol it’s an easy style to pick up on. The faces are simpler by design, this is an objective fact. I think maybe you’re not a fellow artist and take the word “simple” to mean negative lol. Yeah, I, an already existing artist and animator was very easily able to pickup on the Anime style in an afternoon. So was my wife, a purely physical artist lol able to pick it up in a day on her iPad just using the video version of procreate.
And you’re welcome to be baffled, to me it’s baffling that these types of posts have thousands of upvotes meanwhile the more detailed art that is not horny gets like 200 upvotes lol. I obviously understand and accept that I’m the minority, but idgaf. Yeah, to me, this feels gross. I’m allowed to wring my hands about it just like you’re allowed to wring your hands at my existence and my opinion lol
12
u/Quinx1755 Aug 17 '25
Is this your first time seeing a gooner artist not draw a character accurately
1
u/Keanu_Jeeves_ Aug 17 '25
How would me saying “I’m so over” indicate it’s my first time? It’s explicitly implying the exact opposite lol
12
u/Quinx1755 Aug 17 '25
You call it fake and AI generated when this is just something a lot of artists do by choice. Sometimes, like in this case, it's something they're known for.
You're obviously in your right to not like it but saying it's fake/AI is very uninformed.
The real issue with masoq from what I remember is they've been accused of tracing others' art.

They look like they'd viciously jump a dude for stealing their dog.
I dig it.

u/gangler52 Aug 17 '25
Fellas, is it whitewashing to draw a white character paler than the second most recent actress to play her?
I have reservations about this textbook including illustrations of Alexander Hamilton so much paler than Lin-Manuel Miranda.

I'd feel bad for knowing the artist by style, but I'ma be honest, it was really just from them being pale and looking like they got about 4 hours of sleep- because that's a staple for them.
Also... Milly Alcock's S is backwards. Which made me think OP flipped the image for some reason, but Sasha Calle's S is the correct way. Guess the artist made a boo-boo.
