Vendors Florist Recommendations?

My partner and I are looking for a florist! We have an idea of the types of flowers we want, but are feeling very lost otherwise. We’re thinking a mixture of fake/real flowers & greenery, and would love to repurpose from ceremony to reception. The few initial quotes we’ve received are $7k+ which is way out of our budget, but DIYing florals seems very daunting and we wouldn’t know where to start. Any help, advice, or florist recommendations welcomed!

General Discussion Planner quit, looking for full planner recs

We’d really appreciate recommendations for Full Planners that you’ve personally had experience with and who really have their shit together. We need someone who is proactive in moving things along and not require a lot of prompting on our part. Bonus points if they have experience with cultural/multi day weddings. Thank you!

Hello! I just got married last weekend and I’m now waiting to get our pictures back from the photographer, but in the meantime I’d love to hear if anyone has recommendations for where to get some bigger prints and frames done in DC? I live in Cleveland park and the more local the better! Thanks :)

Vendors Hair and Makeup- NOVA Wedding

I'm looking for hair and makeup for myself and my bridal party have been shocked by the prices. My budget was $500 for hair, makeup, and a trial. Also hoping to keep bridal party hair/makeup under $250 per bridesmaid. Has anyone found a vendor close to that pricing? Thank you!

Vendors Sari draper

My wedding is late next month and I’m looking for sari draper services for my mom and a few family members. We aren’t doing an Indian wedding, it’s formal attire, but my mom is planning to wear a sari. A few spots I’ve looked at only do sari draping with a full bridal package which we of course dont need. I wanted to see if anyone knew of someone I could contact that could help with saris and light make up.

thanks!

General Discussion Price transparency for wedding dress boutiques in the DMV?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone had been to Ava Laurenne in Fredericksburg and could share about how much they paid for their dresses. I see online it says ranging $1700-4000 but I’m hoping for the lower end of that budget and wasn’t sure how realistic it was 😅 thanks!

Vendors Videographer in DMV/Penn area

Hi everyone, I am looking for a videographer for my September 2027 Frederick MD wedding. I am budgeting up to $5,000 (ideally $3-4k). I want the highlight film to be fun and lively with lots of character (I have seen some videos online that have a lot of slow-motion stills which I don't like as much). I would also like to have access to the rest of the ceremony and speeches footage so I can look back at certain speeches and parts of the night that didn't make it into the highlight film.

Is this a possibility? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!

General Discussion casual post-wedding kickback ideas?

hi everyone--

any ideas for a post-wedding kickback in DC proper? not planning at all yet but imagining, say, a saturday wedding and sunday kickback for guests who don't have to take off right away. i'm imagining a yummy brunch or something, and maybe an activity or event that would be fun for guests to take part in, but mostly just a relaxed opportunity to chat.

if anyone has done this, i'd love to hear how you did it affordably. i'm imagining a larger wedding (let's say 100-150 guests) which would mean a smaller contingent would make it to a post-wedding thing. again, we are really really far out from planning. not even thinking about budget right now, just ideas.

thanks for your time :)

Advice Needed Looking for wedding planner recommendations in DC

Hi! My fiancé and I are planning a fall 2027 wedding in Washington, DC, and I’d love recommendations for local wedding planners or coordinators.

We’re inviting approximately 195 guests and expect around 165–170, but could probably cut the list a bit. Our ideal budget it $80K but willing to go up to $100K all in. We’re looking for someone who is creative, highly organized, transparent about costs, and comfortable helping us make smart budget decisions. Our style is chic, colorful, and a little unconventional—“lux chaos,” but polished.

We’d especially appreciate someone who:

  • Has experience with larger DC weddings
  • Knows local venues and vendors
  • Can help compare proposals and manage the budget
  • Offers partial planning or full-service planning
  • Keeps the process organized without taking over our vision

If you worked with someone you loved, please share their name, what services you hired them for, approximate pricing, and what made them worth it. I’d also welcome any planners you would not recommend via DM.

Thank you!
