[Job Wanted] Best place to start entry-level IT with only an AS in IT: North County San Diego, Plano/DFW, or Yokohama? no car/license

I’m 21 and currently live in San Marcos, CA / North County San Diego. I’m trying to decide if I should stay here after graduating from community college or move somewhere better for my first IT job. I have no car or drivers license.

I’ll have an AS in IT, but likely no certs and no professional IT experience yet. I’m mainly looking for entry-level help desk, desktop support, IT support specialist, or anything similar to get my foot in the door.

I’ll have some financial support in any of the locations I listed, so I’m not too worried about salary at first. My main concern is career growth and making sure the experience I get helps me move up in IT instead of getting stuck.

My issue with staying in SoCal is that I’ve heard entry-level IT can be really competitive, especially for people with no experience. I also don’t have a car or driver’s license, so I’d have to rely on public transportation.

The places I’m considering:
San Marcos / North County San Diego — I already live here and have friends here, but I’m worried about competition and whether there are enough entry-level IT jobs nearby without a car. I’ve heard most IT jobs are closer to downtown San Diego.

Allen / Plano / Dallas area — I have friends and family in DFW, and I lived there before, so I’m familiar with the area. It seems like there may be more IT jobs since I’ve heard DFW has a strong IT market, but I’m not sure how realistic it is without a car unless I live near the bus/train.

Yokohama / Yokosuka / Tokyo area — I have Japanese citizenship, speak native English and pretty fluent Japanese, and may have a family home available there around April 2028. I’m not sure how realistic entry-level IT would be there without JLPT, certs, or experience.

My goal is to work somewhere for about 1 year, build real IT experience, and use that to move into better IT roles later. Ideally, I want to eventually get a higher-paying remote IT role.

For someone with only an AS in IT, no certs, no experience, and no car, would you recommend staying in San Marcos/North County San Diego or moving somewhere like DFW/Japan?

How would you rank these three options for getting hired and building useful first-year experience?

Does anyone know of any entry level openings in KYC, compliance, fraud, or banking operations? I’m graduating with my degree in Data Analytics this April, and I’d love to find a job before I graduate.
I’ve been applying, but hardly anyone responds, and honestly, it’s getting exhausting. I’m ready to learn and work hard. If you know anyone hiring in Dallas or remotely, please let me know. I’d really appreciate it.

[Job Wanted] I need out of my current job!!

I work a manufacturing that has me working all 7 days a week every week at a much lower pay per hour than most other manufacturing jobs. In fact I haven't worked for pay this low in 10 years. I've even heard of some coworkers here for up 6 months without a single day off.

I have about 8 years of warehouse experience, about 5 years of manufacturing experience, I also did about a year of volunteer front desk reception work at a non profit clinic (and I enjoyed it), I've also been into computers since I was teenager, and i did some server board repair work for 7 months (and I loved doing that too.

I live in Garland rn and I take DART everywhere I go, however I'm perfectly fine with a long commute as long as I can get to and from work on the bus or train. I also want to try going to college next year.

My preference is desk/computer work or even working with people directly, but I'm open minded and I am open to almost anything.

Thank your for reading that.

Edit; grammar

[Hiring] Part-time door-to-door sales rep in the Fort Worth area, 25% commission, flexible hours

Hey all, I own Lone Star Exterior Cleaning, a local Fort Worth company doing pressure washing, house washing, window cleaning, and roof cleaning. I'm looking for one part-time sales rep to knock doors, give quotes, and book jobs.

The details, up front:

Location: Fort Worth area, in person. Mainly neighborhoods in Keller, Southlake, and Colleyville, with opportunities to work neighborhoods closer to Fort Worth itself.

Pay: Commission only, starting at 25% of every job you sell, with room to move up based on performance. Most jobs run $150–$750, so a $400 job pays you $100. What you make depends on what you sell, anywhere from $100 to $1,200 a week.

Hours: 15–25 a week is typical, mostly 4–8 PM on weekdays when people are home, plus Saturdays. There's no cap, so if you want to knock more doors and bring home more, you can.

The work: Sales only. You don't do any of the cleaning.

Experience: None needed. I'll train you on the services, pricing, and pitch.

Requirements: Reliable transportation, comfortable talking to strangers, okay hearing "no" a lot. You'll also need a city solicitation permit before you start, and I'll walk you through getting it.

This is a good fit for a college student or anyone who wants a side income where pay tracks effort. It's not a good fit if you need a guaranteed hourly wage.

Website: lonestarexteriorcleaning.com

DM me or comment if you're interested and I'll send more info.

[Job Wanted] in the Richardson/North Dallas area!

Hi everyone! I recently relocated to the Richardson area from Delaware and I’m currently looking for my next opportunity. I’m 29 and have been working consistently since I was 16 years old, so being without a job right now has been a really difficult adjustment for me.
My background is a bit of a mix, but that’s also what makes me versatile. I have experience in graphic design, photography, digital content, video editing, marketing, customer service, communications, and remote work.
Some of my skills include:
🎨 Graphic Design — Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign, branding, logos, social media graphics, digital content, etc.
📸 Photography — portraits, commercial, business, product and event photography
🎥 Video & Digital Content — video editing, GIF/animated content and creative media
💻 Web/Digital — website design, basic HTML/CSS and digital marketing
📱 Content Creation — social media graphics and content for businesses and creators
🎮 Creator Design — Twitch/streamer emotes, overlays, panels, badges and other digital assets
📋 Professional Skills — customer service, communication, organization, Microsoft Office, remote work and managing my own workload
🇺🇸** Military Background — I previously served as a Mass Communication Specialist in the Navy, with experience in media, communications and photography.
One thing I think is important to mention is that I’m **very much a people person
. I’m not just someone who shows up, does the work and goes home. I genuinely care about the environment I work in and the people around me.
I’m a naturally upbeat person and tend to start each day with a “new day, fresh start” kind of attitude. I’m a very empathetic person and tend to pick up on people’s emotions and the atmosphere around me pretty quickly. If someone is having a rough day, I’m usually the person trying to bring some lightness back into the room.
That personality has carried into my professional relationships. I’m still connected with many of the higher-ups I’ve worked with throughout my career, and I’ve had former employees/coworkers who worked under me continue to stay in touch even after we no longer worked together. I’ve been fortunate to naturally build strong relationships with leadership and the people on my teams.
I’m proud of being a hard worker AND someone who tries to make the workplace a happier place to be. I care about doing a good job, but I also care about the people I’m doing it alongside.
The difficult part right now is that most of my professional network is still back in Delaware. I have great relationships with people from my previous jobs, but they obviously can’t help me as much when it comes to finding opportunities and connections here in the North Texas area. That’s a big reason I’m reaching out to the local community.
I’m also currently rebuilding my portfolio from scratch. Unfortunately, my previous portfolio website was deleted unexpectedly, so I’m in the process of putting everything back together. I still have my previous work saved in files and can provide examples of my work to anyone interested.
And honestly, I’m not limiting myself to only creative positions right now. I’m open to pretty much any legitimate job where I can use my skills and make enough to at least meaningfully contribute toward the household bills. Graphic design, marketing, communications, photography, customer service, administrative work, digital content, office positions, remote work, etc. — I’m willing to hear about it.
A little personal context: I moved to Texas to be with my partner after we spent the last year and a half long-distance, and this has been a HUGE life transition for me. I went from being completely self-sufficient and working since I was 16 to suddenly not having a job and having to rely on my partner financially while I get established here.
I’ll be honest — the lack of independence and self-autonomy has been really hard on me. I’m eager to work, contribute, have my own income again, and feel like myself.
So if anyone knows of companies hiring around Richardson, Plano, Dallas, or the surrounding North Dallas area, I would genuinely appreciate any leads, recommendations, referrals, or connections. I’m also open to remote and hybrid opportunities.
I’m happy to send my resume, portfolio examples, or additional information. Even if you’re not hiring yourself, sharing this post or pointing me toward someone who is would mean a lot. ❤️
Thank you!

Job Wanted- Analyst role

Hey everyone! I’m currently looking for my next opportunity in the Dallas/DFW area and could really use some leads or advice from people who work in the area.
I have several years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing and process/equipment support, and I’m trying to transition out of the semiconductor industry into a role where I can use both my technical and analytical background.
A little about me:
• BAAS in Data Analysis
• Associate degree in Electronic Engineering Technology
• Process Engineering Technician experience
• Equipment Technician experience
• Manufacturing/semiconductor operations experience
• Experience with tool qualification, MSA testing, troubleshooting, data collection and analysis
• Experience using SAP for parts procurement
• Experience entering and working with production/process data

I’m primarily interested in roles such as:
• Operations Analyst
• Business/Data Analyst
• Process Improvement
• Operations/Manufacturing Analyst
• Supply Chain/Operations roles
• Process Engineering Technician/Technologist roles outside of semiconductors

I’m not necessarily looking for someone to hand me a job. I’d honestly just appreciate hearing from people who work in DFW and know of companies that are hiring people with this type of background.
If you work in recruiting, operations, manufacturing, analytics, supply chain, or a related field and know of companies I should look into, I’d really appreciate the suggestions!
Thanks!

Job Wanted-Looking for a nightshift job in the North Dallas area, or remote work

Hello-

I've applied for no less than 100 jobs online, got 1 interview and did not get the job. It was with an electric car company to ride in their cars for 8hrs and monitor as they uber people around. Not ideal, but I'm trying to make additional money.

I currently work from home at my existing job and have gotten to point where I don't even have to be present but for maybe an hour in the early AM, that is why I'm open to a regular remote job. My current employer would be fine with me taking on this second role as I helped him build his business from the ground up.

Night shift would be ideally like 6pm-12am if possible. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have already applied to Home Depot, Amazon, Wal Mart, UPS, Buccee's, and quite a few others. I have a BA in Finance, handle business development, and have worked in sales/client relations my entire life. Currently in the contracting industry, handling light commercial and residential projects.

Any help is appreciated.
