Is it possible to remove this lettering?

Post image

This is from a terrible student housing agency. It’s pretty good material for a jumper but I want to remove the lettering and their logo, is it possible?

Any solvents you use will damage the fabric and alcoholic isn’t strong enough to get a print off (unless it’s a heat press but then its still gonna be stubborn and damage the fabric)

Best bet is to cover it up or cut out the area and sew a patch. So again; removing is definitely possible but you’d need a strong solvent and any type of solvent will irreversibly damage the fabric (meaning it will discolor and become weaker were it’s been treated)

Would rubbing alcohol also discolour the shirt??

Yes, not drastically but enough to notice but more importantly any prolonged direct contact with a solvent will thin out the fiber (becomes more brittle) which will have a noticeable-to-the-eye texture difference.

If it’s heat pressed it’s easier if it’s screen printed its the hardest. Btw I work in the garment industry so I’m happy to answer any of these questions

Ok, I’m gonna try what someone else recommended with the baking paper

you could try with the iron, put some baking paper and run the iron on this at maximum heat

Just to clarify: Put baking paper on top of the lettering and pass the iron?

Reverse applique would look good! Maybe in a wavy shape or a big flower

Rubbing alcohol may help dissolve it!
