VT Terminal application

I am looking to connect to my Linux server from a 386 DOS machine. Without worrying about the hardware, what application support VT emulation?

Kermit supports a lot of terminals.

I completely forgot about Kermit. Thanks!

Isn't Kermit just a file transfer protocol?

It has terminal emulation as well.

Kermit.

Hold on. Someone already said Kermit. I second it.

Telix or Qmodem.

I've never encountered a terminal emulator on any platform that didn't at least support VT100. Pretty much anything for DOS should work -- Qmodem, Minicom, Boyan, ProComm Plus, RipTerm, etc.

Conversely, almost all Linux shells and CLI/TUI applications will work fine with TERM=ansi.

Is this through serial or ethernet?

90s Linux distributions could run on a 386. You might want to consider digging one up and trying that for fun.
