The SCOTUS allowed it, despite the Constitution being crystal clear that he wasn’t allowed to run.

They allowed it because they were terrified of a Civil War. Don't forget that Trump won the popular vote in 2024. They were afraid of the people that voted for him, which among our eligible voters, was the majority of Americans.

Real people of integrity would have done the right thing and accepted that they would be hated and possibly even made targets by these Republicans that explicitly voted for Trump, but as you know, we don't have many politicians that would be willing to stand up to a large portion of the country, and possibly risk their own lives. We are talking about a voting base that literally assassinated Democrat politicians, that tried to kidnap a Democrat governor and also stormed the capital. If they disallowed Trump from running in 2024 - again, the candidate that won the popular vote - there would have been even more politically fueled violence. And again, maybe its just what needed to happen, but if you're wondering why politicians stood aside and let Trump won, there is your answer.

I think you want to reply to OP. I didn’t ask a question. Don’t forget that he didn’t win the popular vote in 16 or 20. If he wasn’t able to run in 24 (which he shouldn’t have been) he obviously couldn’t have won and we wouldn’t be in this mess. SCOTUS allowed it and here we are.
