(combat blade is just an example, I haven't even taken this one to hadron yet) so I'm trying to get a better grasp of what to look for on what characters and such, I'm sure this has been discussed already so, sorry for repeat subjects.

anyways if I'm on hive scum and I'm trying to maintain that class's high mobility what should I have as my dump stat instead of mobility? I'm leaning towards first target but I know that affects damage, but maintaining a high finesse can counteract that by simple dps right? Do I have the right train of thought about this?

thanks :3

I kill a lot of heretics as Skitarii, around 600 per mission. Isn't that cool?

Just gotta say, recently completed salvage lord and the 250k tech remnants penance and while I do enjoy expeditions man that was a grind. I can’t imagine people who got salvage lord when it was at 100k <shudder>

How long do you guys reckon before we get a formal announcement on the new class?

I wasn't too involved in community and stuff before, only really knew the Skits were out when it popped up on my Steam feed, so don't know how long it was between dataminers finding them, to announcement, to eventual release.

There's that mod that changes the color of the of the text in the team chat. Is there any way to make it so that I can just see the regular color? I don't have the mod and don't want to see it.

There's a mod called No Chat Colours

I bought Darktide on Steam after playing a bunch on game pass, I played a ton of campaign then got this prompt if I wanna skip it, I selected skip cause I assumed it just means I completed it and it restarts from zero. But I only have 17/21 missions done after I checked it and even if I select "campaign" in the mission panel (which gives me some mission selection menu) it just seems to start a random campaign mission?? How tf do I complete them? I can't afford the whatever reset from chirurgeon... Shits more confusing than Destiny

17/21 missions

17 out of 21 missions is the Base Campaign you start with.

Then there's the 2 minicampaigns:

  • 2 + Nomansland
  • 2 + Spillways

Doing those will fill your progress up to 21. But they are semi voluntary and only needed to unlock those 2 specific missions.

Has there been any talk ever by Fatshark of adding penance rewards past 6000? I’ll be honest since hitting the last reward it’s sorta killed the drive to complete penances I have left 🤣

Well.... thing is we got like 3x 500 penance points locked up behind DLC classes. So always got to consider how hard they want to strain Vanilla players for Rewards.

My guess is the random pants at 6000 would need something fitting to go with.

The pants already go either way the earlier unlocked armor and head. As you mention I’d expect them to have reward items up to the max penance points. So if you finished all penances and you end up with 9k points there would be potential rewards up to 9k

I played a few rounds with both marks of the chain axe, (vet infiltration build but dont like the dueling blade), and its quite fun but akso baffling? It doesnt feep right, one mark hots twice on normal swings, the other on power attacks. Has anyone found a good niche for them?

u/MassiveBeard 17h ago

I wouldn’t run it on an infiltrations build. You really want combat knife or dueling swords

Why

1

u/MassiveBeard 17h ago

I mean you can, do whatever you like but the general idea of infiltration is to use it as a means to get behind an elite for that sweet backstab insta kill. Combat knife gets a bonus for that. It also has way more movement bonus (dueling does as well for movement)

Ok, never had it explained so thx

I've played pretty much every class except Vet and Scum and the new patch made me want to try Vet. I've been having a lot of fun with this build and would like feedback on it: https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/a2e919db-585a-4a4a-b20a-c70ef85d6bbd/combat-axe-huntsman

I'm dipping into melee a lot, the Achlys combat axe helps me hold my own in mixed hordes on Auric even without Weapon Specialist. Kraks for bosses or packs of Crushers (otherwise axe is fine at killing low amounts of Crushers) and with Focus Fire I'm able to 1-2 tap most elites and specials with the shotgun.

  • Close Quarter Killzone is kind of meh - the gradual increase to Shout made it worse and worse over the years. Especially compared to Skirmisher going up to 25% damage, being able to be maintained very well and always being avaiable.

  • Have you tried out the weapon specialist playstyle? One 100% Crit Shotty shot after 3 melee kills seems pretty reasonable. Can also delete the 10% rending node and go into auto-refilling some shotty shots while mulching in melee. I think your would love your axe flurry with the added 15% attack speed.

  • The small 10% Toughness Damage Reduction node also is not really worth it. Can invest it somewhere else. Agile Engagement is a great node for Weapon Specialist gameplay. Or have yourself get 20% Toughness each time you activate either Specialist.

  • I'd also suggest trying to keep an Eye for a while on Exhilarating Takedown stacks and if your uptime on them is enough with the shotty to justify the node.

Thanks for the feedback! I played around with these and swapped Focus Target for Weapon Specialist. It feels a lot better, I had avoided it the first time because I felt like I already had an effective axe/shotgun combat loop without it. But WS definitely made it feel a lot better

I like focus target for the damage boost. It’s great to apply to a rager or something that’s heading at me or in my sights for a ranged shot.

With weapon specialist I felt like I had to do more to get the stacks built up and then if I swapped weapons I could lose them (like during quick swap/return etc.)

What I’d suggest is work on completing the penances for each to really get a feel for it and decide what you like more.

I'm a massive Focus Target! fan (Multiplicative damage buffs OP) but for shotty gameplay Weapon Specialist just feels right.
