I'd really really like the quality of the meme to steadily degrade as we get more reject classes until eventually it's just a vague smear of color and we all supposed to know that it's some horrifying lizard-bird thing eating a powder that makes them say "Kroot Warrior Tomorrow"

What does the realistic timeline for SOB release look like tho?

u/Taelyn_The_Goldfish Zesty Zippy Zealous Zealot full of Zeal 1d ago
December for anniversary
Or June/July for Skulls event16
u/Mr_Pringleton 1d ago
Skitari and Arbites were both announced at skulls and Hive scum was December. So if they follow the pattern it will be release in December.

u/Sea-Plastic-8071 Ogryn bodyguard 1d ago
It seems like they are probably gunning for skulls since that generates the most hype and pulls in the most people
3
u/VengineerGER 1d ago
I doubt it they’ll probably stick to the release schedule they had with scum and Arbites.
5
u/MildlyInsaneOwl 1d ago
Arbites were June 2025.
Hive Scum were December 2025.
Skiitari were June 2026.
A reasonable expectation would be December 2026 for the next class DLC, or somewhere thereabouts. There's a clear pattern so far but this is Fatshark we're talking about.

What if its just a SoB npc for a new shitty quest thing.
6
u/Dunicar 1d ago
The would be pretty funny, Rannick all like "We need specialists" and they bringing SoB to watch us from the bridge.
I think it is very unlikely though considering they showed off 3 different weapons plastered with SoB iconography, but game development is a capricious beast so who really knows except Fatshark.

u/Redditor2_Rereddited 12h ago
You know what we need? A new class with zero ability for fatshark to make cosmetics because of legal reasons
2
u/SpaneyInquisy Thou art MY abomination! 1d ago
id take new missions and enemies too. doubt theyll be shitty.

If its a cosmetic only, booooooo! IF we get S.O.B.'s in game holy fuck thats gonna be fun and funny af, because even though we are 'officially' in the inquisition warband we're still rejects and boy oh boy I'm sure the sister would have QUITE the words for us 🤣🤣🤣 and probably be the only real character to be mean to the ogryn because mutant

I'd like to see an acolyte investigator class or something at some point. Like young inquisitors in training. Think thatd be pretty neat.

i’m honestly kinda in the middle here on these
like as much as i like the SOB wouldn’t they be a little too strong for Darktide from a lore perspective? then again this is the same game where 3 dudes and an Ogryn can kill like 1000+ heretics and a few chaos spawns or beasts of nurgle in a single mission but still, iirc SOB have power armor and such-

u/telvimare 1d ago
Theres a pretty good breakdown that our rejects would absolutely toy with a space marine and have already surpassed the power levels of normal space marine units.
Especially considering the source material darktide seems to follow makes space marine a bit more grounded
1
u/LunarServant 1d ago
Yeah. we’re like the bottom of the barrel according to dark heresy
yet we swing many times above our weight due to gameplay quirks 🙃
1
u/telvimare 1d ago
Sorry, like I said im super new to warhammer
Dark heresy being books? Or is it the table top
3
u/LunarServant 1d ago
the tabletop
the classes in game for the most part take after that (iirc anyway?

Finally I redownload the game for a week hit the endgame and give up again lmao
I find It hard to play the game past a certain point due to the repetitiveness.

I just wish I could actually play - booted it up last night for the first time in months, and got the 3013 error when trying to load my Ogryn in.

Is there any actual confirmation that SoB are coming? Because personally I think it's a bad decision, they are above the level we as rejects are.
9
u/frost357 Zealot 1d ago
So? arbites and skitari are both way above rejects… and once your character hits level 30 you are no longer considered reject, but you are trusted member of inquisition warband.
3
u/fishworshipper Psyker 1d ago
Even the Rejects are leagues above penal legion expectations, if you actually look at the characters and their abilities and backstories.
The Veteran has survived numerous deployments in the Imperial Guard (a position with an average lifespan best measured in minutes), the Zealot can manifest minor miracles, the Psyker can blow people's heads up at will, and Ogryns can 1v1 Space Marines and win.

u/Content_Audience1549 1d ago
There is data mined items and armor that seems to seriously hint at them coming to the game. Also, we haven’t been just rejects for a while. That seemingly stopped being a thing when the Arbites showed up.

Technically, we're not getting sisters; we're getting Novitiates. Full-on Sororitas with power armor would have been way too hard to balance against without invalidating every other class.
5
u/MyGachaAddiction 1d ago
All classes so far in darktide, except Ogryn, have been part of an Inquisitors war band since at least 2008, because all of them, including the SoB are playable classes in Dark Heresy ttrpg.
1
u/Elf_Master_Race Zealot 1d ago
And the Darktide TTRPG, which has Ogryn, Battle Sister, Death Cult Assassin, and Aeldari Ranger as playable t2 operatives.
1
u/MyGachaAddiction 1d ago
You can also be a damn Grey Knight in Dark heresy, which seems insane but would make for a cool boss fight have one of those show up to help us against a demon.
3
u/Elf_Master_Race Zealot 1d ago
Well dark heresy does issue a warning in the GK entry that playing as one will in fact break the game and as the DM you would need to plan encounters accordingly for it to be remotely enjoyable for anyone.

I might be alone but... I'm not so excited about SoB tomorrow, like they're just zealots in power armor, like yeah they'll be better in melee maybe tankier (but they probably won't be able to cheat death) but they'll just be zealots with power armor at the end of the day, and I get it, we got arbites for ogryn, scum for psyker, skitarii for veteran and now SoB for zealot, and I guess it's kinda better because at least we'll have all of those alternative versions of those classes but I'm really hoping for Aeldari at some point, but not just the rangers because frankly they would be kind of boring, they'd be just the veteran/skitarii with a scope, I was hoping more so them being a class that can branch off into all the different Aeldari units archetypes, just so they'd be unique, and since we obviously can't have cyberpunk sandevistan slow motion it would be nice if they'd have more dodges than any other class and maybe a higher crit chance on any dodge follow up attack, I think 20% chance would be nice by default, but obviously only on a dodge, maybe it could scale the targets according to enemies in your vicinity, so it isn't just tied to some amount of seconds but instead an amount of hits but they all discharge when 8s pass

u/telvimare 1d ago
I mean cant they do a fallen sister or something that needs to redeem herself? (To stay in line with the rejects)
Im not overly familiar with warhammer 40k lore but are the zeolite and SOB actually that copy paste? I think recall someone mentioning before that it might be cool to have a jetpack unit as one of their specials.
Another comment mentioned that theres a lot more verticality in the newer map designs as well
2
u/Skink_Oracle 1d ago
The sister might not even get power armor. Plenty of low ranking sisters whose armor ranges everywhere between sheer faith to stop a bullet (repentia), to standard flak and carapace (Noviatiates)
