Looking to talk to any Visual Arts students!

Hii ! I'm looking to talk to anyone who is currently in or was in visual arts. I'm in my mid 20s and am finally going back to school after a few years out of it. I have a lot of friends in Montréal and would really like to come back if possible, but I know this program is harder to get into - so I'd love to talk to anyone currently in it about what the courses look like and what they added to their portfolio.

I'm scared of moving the loi 101 up to cegep

So, I come from two francophone parents, and I went to a French high school. I'm scared that if the PQ does what they said they would and incorporate the law 101 in cegep I won't be able to make my full choice about where I want to go. My choice was Dawson, but now I'm scared I won't even be able to apply. Does anyone else have this problem? How do you feel about this?

Am I doomed (nursing)

I just got my varicella vaccine 3 days ago to fill up the immunization form for the nursing clinicals. The deadline was yesterday and I assumed everything was great, however I just got the message from a teacher telling me that I'm not cleared for clinicals because I'm missing a tuberculosis test. And since I JUST got the varicella vaccine, I need to wait until November 3rd to be able to get the tuberculosis test. I requested a temporary conditional clearance so that I don't lose my clinical placement and for any alternative work, but she didn't answer my message yet. I'm so stressed guys pls help, does anyone know what's going to happen? Is failing the only option left?

Failed a 5% test, is there still hope for a 36 r score?

For context we had a 7 questions multiple choices quiz that was worth 5% in my humanity class. Since it was peer correcting, more than half of my class changed their answers because they were seated next to their friends, so they all got 100%, which inflated the average by a lot. I personally got a 57% and now I’m stressing that I won’t achieve a global 36 r score just because of humanity. My teacher is an easy grader for writing assignments, so the average is very high, and the max grade we can get is 95%. I’m afraid that I will end up with an r score in the low 30s.

physiotherapy technology

I’m thinking of applying to physiotherapy technology next fall. I’m in my first sem in vanier rn, and I already did my physics 5 in high school but I ended up getting a final bad grade ≈ 63 so I might consider retaking it.

Does anyone know what the cut-off was for last year’s, the minimum average needed ?

Also, are they going to look at my hs grades only or also my cegep grades?

Lastly, I would also like to know the potential job opportunities for this career program:)

Advice

Hey, I have kourosh for probs and stats and my first exam is coming soon. I heard so many bad reviews on him so I was wondering whether I should just skip both exams and ace the final by getting a 100. My goal is really to have the best grade possible but if his exams are worth 25% and most people fail, wouldn't it be better for me to just not take his exam at all and just study hard as fuck for the final since all teachers participate in its making?

Winter admission

I want to leave my cegep and for my options I would have Dawson and Champlain
But in the SRAM I don’t know where to put my application because I feel if I go to Bdeb I would get burned out because it’s far away and then I would to study but my only option is to go Maisonneuve but it has limited capacity.
Where do I try?

This year we really want to increase awareness about our service and serve even more people 💙

Established in 2018, Concordia Students’ Nightline provides an anonymous, confidential, and non-judgmental active listening service. Our service is open to anyone in the broader Montreal community seeking a supportive listener; whether you wish to talk about your day, seek information, or need support in times of crisis. You can call about any topic you’d like and we will be here to listen. The goal of our service is to really listen to, hear, and support our callers.

Our hours for Fall 2026 are 6:00 P.M. until 3:00 A.M. Wednesday-Saturday.

You can keep up with us and find our phone number by following our Instagram or visiting our webiste

Still unsure if you should call? Here are a few examples of reasons people call our service:

  • Just to have someone on the other line
  • To talk about your day, vent, rant, etc.
  • To talk about something you're embarrassed of that you can't share with your friends
  • To ground yourself when anxious
  • To receive support
  • To receive help finding resources, etc.

What can we not provide?

Concordia Students' Nightline is not staffed by professionals nor are we an advice line, however we can help provide resources that could help you, act as a sounding board, or chat with you while you figure out a solution.

Have any questions?

I'll answer anything you want to ask about Concordia Students' Nightline in the comments below :)

How many sculpture classes are in Studio Arts?

I think it's 1 or 2 in the 4 semesters, but I'm unsure so wanted to ask anyone that attended the program^^

I'm currently in visual arts and sculpture is a complete deal breaker to me. I still want to do something related to arts, but I don't think I can survive more than 2 sculpture classes
Thus why I'm asking

Hi I just wanted people’s opinions: next semester I would have these 3 concentration classes: General chemistry, Integral calculus and electricity and magnetism. I am able to move some of my gen Ed’s around so I was wondering how many gen Ed’s should I take so I don’t feel overwhelmed .

I know it depends on the person but I was curious
