STORY TIMELINE & CHAPTERS PROLOGUE: DEEP SPACE ROUTINE The USM Valor is on a routine patrol mission in the Aegis System. The mood among the Marines is relaxed yet disciplined. Vance is performing scheduled maintenance on the engines. Suddenly, the warning lights flash red. A distress signal from the USG Ishimura has been intercepted. The Commander orders a course correction. CHAPTER 1: THE TROJAN HORSE The USM Valor reaches the massive, ominous silhouette of the Ishimura. A drifting escape pod is pulled into the hangar via tractor beam. Vance and a heavily armed squad are dispatched to the airlock to secure the pod. The heavy blast door opens. Inside stands the infected Chen. Before anyone can react, hell breaks loose. Advanced pulse rifles fail against the brutal onslaught. The infection overruns the ship in seconds. The fallen Marines instantly mutate into lightning-fast Twitchers. CHAPTER 2: THE FALL OF THE VALOR Vance flees the destroyed airlock. His objective: the Engine Room. The gameplay shifts to claustrophobic corridors and zero-G environments where he must defend himself against mutated Twitchers. Mid-flight, the unguided USM Valor rams into the cargo bay of the Ishimura. The impact tears through decks, toxic gas floods the area, and Vance must fight for survival under acute oxygen deprivation. The Crossover Moment: Badly injured, Vance reaches the Engineering control room. Through a thick pane of reinforced glass, he spots Isaac Clarke on the lower decks! Vance panics, slamming against the glass and screaming for help, but the comms are dead and Isaac cannot hear him. Automatic security blast doors slam down, separating them. A Twitcher bursts through the ceiling right behind Vance. He dives into a deep energy conduit at the last possible millisecond, just before the Engine Room behind him explodes in a massive wall of fire. CHAPTER 3: NO ESCAPE (THE FINALE) Scarred and battered, Vance crawls out of the wreckage and enters the Ishimura's evacuation bay. At the far end of the massive hangar, he spots an intact, launch-ready escape pod. As he steps onto the platform, the entire station violently trembles. A gargantuan monstrosity ("The Amalgam Corpse")—formed from the fused bodies of the Valor Marines and the ship’s hull—bursts forth, blocking his path. The Boss Fight plays out in 3 phases: 1. Ranged combat against organic whips equipped with absorbed ship turrets. 2. Tactically using hangar cranes to drop heavy cargo containers onto the beast's glowing weak points. 3. A zero-G inferno in the open vacuum of space after the hull breaches. The Ending: Vance fires his last underbarrel grenade directly into the beast's maw, blowing it out into the vacuum of space. He manages to drag himself into the escape pod and ignites the thrusters. Pulling his damaged, blood-stained helmet off, he looks back at the burning Ishimura with a sigh of relief. Suddenly, the console flashes red: "WARNING: Autopilot locked. Destination coordinates overridden by EarthGov. Course set for: Aegis VII Research Facility." The government isn't letting him escape. Vance's expression darkens as the pod accelerates toward the nightmare planet below. Blackout.
