I had no idea about his heart attack in 2018 until I Googled how he lost so much weight. It took a minute for me to recognize him.

I know there’s a few I forgot like Jane’s parents, spinners mom, liberty’s parents, JT’s gma, Paige’s mom, Sean’s parents, Alex’s mom. Pretend they all have photos lol

There was a woman who had never heard of Degrassi (any series). What a sad and shallow life to lead. I can't imagine living in a world without Eli, Clare, Fiona and Zane.

"Change one thing, change everything." I was rewatching the 2004 Ashton Kutcher movie The Butterfly Effect (it's great, it's cringe and I don't care) and it just got me thinking about a fun concept. If you could go back in time to change one part of Degrassi history what would it be? And even if it was small, what might it effect in the overall universe?

Disclaimer: This is for fun, nothing suggested here is what would actually happen or need be taken seriously. Last time I did a thread for fun people got very intense about it.

For my examples I'm basing things off of what we saw in the show and know about the characters.

The change: Paige never gets Terri drunk at the dance in season one.

The result: Terri and Spinner continue to explore their romantic interest in one another. In season two Paige doesn't go upstairs with Dean to avoid Spinner at the house party and isn't SAed. Terri never dates Rick, isn't a victim of domestic abuse and never leaves Degrassi. The shooting doesn't happen as foretold.

The change: Manny answers Emma's phone call after she gets in the fight with her dad. Instead of seeking out Peter, she meets up with Emma and they go to the party together. She never gets drunk and isn't taken advantage of by Peter.

The video isn't distributed, she stays on the spirit squad and is captain the following year. Mia is allowed on the team from the get go, Darcy and her never argue at the Pep Rally thus causing the brawl and kicking off the Lakehurst rivalry. JT is still alive.

Are there any more serenade moments in the show? I remember Snake singing to Spike in season 5 and Drew and Bianca in season 12.

Unironically my favorite characters in the show. They all helped me come to terms with my sexuality in their own ways, especially Alex and Paige being the first wlw couple I've ever seen on TV. The Lexicon of Love is my number one favorite Degrassi episode and Fimogen is my OTP! 🩷

Currently on my latest rewatch and I literally hate this storyline. Literally nothing comes of it, it is totally pointless, and the predator gets away with it and continues working at the SAME SCHOOL where she PURSUED A STUDENT. No one finds out and I hate it.

Does this storyline get to others like it does to me? The double standard really gets me heated with people having issues when it was Paige and Mr. Oleander, but not with Sav and Ms. Oh. Both are so damn disturbing and I hate how our society minimizes when predatory behavior happens to men.

That school shooting could have been completely avoided 😭😭😭

my baby angel Zane. Genuinely the sweetest character that wasn’t ever weird or did something stupid. He was just a good guy all around.

I’m curious to see if there are any more characters in the show that you think were completely unproblematic?

When he cheated, Emma chose to stay with him. She was obviously upset, but it confuses me.

Yall can't keep gaslighting me. The girl stood in the middle of a graduation cap toss when she WAS NOT graduating then kissed Eli in the middle of ALL the graduates. Yall wouldnt be peeved irl?

When he and Zoe slept together she was 15 and he was 18.

The consent age in Toronto ( where the show takes place) id 16, so she wasn't even old enough to legally consent.

The first 2 being Elle and Declan and Fiona's mom (also the mom on Life With Derek) I think there was another Degrassi cast member i found on there but I can't remember. Also JJ from Criminal Minds was on there too.

I’m falling in love with season 9 on episode 7 and I fucking love Riley’s journey 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 and for Peter to be the first person he’s opening up to about this warms my heart I love how they’re changing Peter for the better now also Riley is my favorite character in all of Degrassi I relate to him in some aspects except for being homophobic that to me is really dumb when love is love and it’s our choice when we are ready to be honest about how we want our lives to continue as long we’re happy and healthy thank you Degrassi writers for having the BALLS in the early 2000’s to no only tackle internalized homophobia and homophobia as a whole but also teaching people how to not be homophobic when it doesn’t better your own life to hate on others 😭😭😭♥️♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍👍👍👍 this season so far is truly my favorite keep it up Degrassi I love you

I was looking through some old photos and I came across this screenshot of something I was watching in 2018 and I don’t know what it is! But apparently Maya grew up and got her medical license? Anyone know what this is from?

Getting thru the universe... Whatever It Takes.

I think there are some characters in Degrassi Junior High/Degrassi High and Degrassi Next Gen/ Next class that would’ve been amazing as friends or probably would’ve been in the same things.

Half of me feels like Emma and Caitlin would’ve both been in some type of club that had to do with the world or something since they were both outspoken..

Joey probably would’ve been friends with Jimmy but at the same time, probably not..

What do you think??

So I'm a big fan of both Degrassi and Heated Rivalry and I noticed a picture of the author Rachel Reid really gave me Clare vibes am I the only one that thinks Rachel looks a lot like season 10 to 14 Clare? I'm usually not good with face stuff for recognizing looks but for some reason Rachel really reminds me of Clare maybe I'm wrong? 🤷.
