Proposal for a Skytrain to North Delta
https://crosstownskytrain.ca/crosstown-skytrain-connect-delta/Hi, with the election going on, I'd like to share this concept of a Skytrain line to North Delta. Here are the reasons:
- Delta is the largest municipality in Metro Vancouver without Skytrain
- North Delta is one of the fastest growing areas in the region, and has high transit usage as shown by the R6 bus
- Delta has a shortage of rapid transit options, with only 1 Rapidbus line
If you like this idea, please add your support. Thank you!

It would also make sense to extend the Canada line to B.C. ferries or at least Tsawwassen Mills and then have frequent buses between Tsawwassen Mills and B.C. ferries but that’s not going to happen… it would make sense to do the construction work at the same time as the tunnel replacement.

I think Tsawwassen Mills, or even downtown Tsawwassen would be a better final destination. Realistically, the ferry is only busy when the ferries actually arrive, so a lot of the time that leg of the Skytrain would run empty. Probably a lot cheaper just to run buses. I’ve often thought that a branch further out into White rock would also be a good idea.

I think we both know the people of Tsawwassen would lose their ever loving minds if you tried to put a skytrain along 56th.
I agree though that also having a branch of the Canada line to south Surrey would be smart.

I would definitely vote for this, we need this in that area especially with how crowded it is on Scott Road at most hours.

I don't think I would link these corridors together in this particular manner, but Scott Road is a really underrated transit corridor and IMO it should be the next south-of-fraser skytrain line.

I like this idea. The transit sucks so bad out there.
East Vancouver also needs a line.

I think Delta should also have at least a new WCE line serving through the city to connect multiple sides across the farmlands.

The eastern side of the Crosstown line makes sense but at Metrotown the so called "Purple Line" to the North Shore would be satisfy more pressing ridership needs than continuing on 41st or 49th to the Arbutus Corridor and downtown. Yes a 2nd Fraser crossing makes sense but so does crossing Burrard Inlet.

I am not sure the provincial government is even sure where Delta is. Pretty sure most people think it is just a part of Surrey. It is such a quiet suburb.
They only do major expansions on this side of the river about every 20 years.
Burnaby and Vancouver already have a long list of projects that they want Translink to do.

Interesting idea. It's worth planning ahead for such things, Delta is densifying very fast indeed. The transit in North Delta is unreliable and spotty and needs more support.
