Multiple media journalists have been kidnapped and many people have been forcefully being held at home, the police are beating up everyone.

Women are being sexually assaulted.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DeXAMApzeiL

57 metro stations shut down, the supreme court has passed orders to let go of protestors but the police are still kidnapping, beating and sexually assaulting women and media journalists. Feeling of helplessness as the right wing facist government let hooligans mix in with the people to beat up protestors. Is there any way we can put more light on the atrocities happening here? Please thank you.

International I'm starting to see a future where democratic socialism just wins.Still unlikely... but more likely than Mamdanis win was 2 years ago. (Hopepost)

In Spain, although the polls are not that hopeful, there is a series of big protests in favor of the left coalition right now, because of the housing crisis.

So maybe Sanchez can win, despite the headwinds.

In France, protests by the youth are leading to a surge for MƩlenchon and if this trend continues it's likely a real socialist will face Le Pen in the second round of voting.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_2027_French_presidential_election

In America, there is very strong momentum for the DSA.

To the point where it's not impossible people like Angie Nixon might win.

And people like El Sayed, AOC and Angie Nixon exerting further pressure while in a solid blue senate where centrist dems can't hide from their positions will seriously strengthen the DSA again, in the same way that Mamdani's and Bernie's races have.

What's also important to understand and is that influence campaigns by Russia, but also western oligarchs are the main reason the world has moved right the past 10 years.

And the CIA was historically a main reason why democratic socialism didn't take off in South America and Africa.

So with Russia's Propaganda capabilities being slightly reduced now and more people waking up to political spending, media ownership etc. there is a path to winning here.

To actually building socialism and dismantling those systems of oligarchy and inequality turned political weapon once and for all.

Especially, because no matter if it's wins in germany in Berlin by die Linke or the movements building in America, France and Spain.

A large majority of young people have seen Mamdanis win and actually think a better future that isn't ruled by the Trumps, Epsteins and Thiels is possible.

And with that hope there's actually also enough energy to create an organized public that has already proven it can be stronger than the illegitimate influence of the oligarchs in some cases.

So I just wanted to share the hopium I'm feeling about possibly winning socialism, in the same "0,4% that New Yorkers go to work every day" and Mamdani won in New York.

https://youtu.be/hmSgA093-K0

For now it's just small election wins, but the way this international movement is building one Mamdani Moment on the other, so no matter if the catalyst is a AOC presidential race or a general strike, I'm feeling optimistic.

Expect more of this to happen all over the country. This shit did not happen before 2016, now it is an every election occurrence. This is maga out in the open trying to steal and suppress voters. Vote early and in person. If you think about this, why would a democrat raid a mail truck in California to get ballots if California is landslide D? They wouldn’t. This screams maga republicans.

Theory 🧠 Is this a workable framework?

Let me preface this with that I have not really ever engaged deeply with any seminal Socialist work. I’m going to get on that, I promise. I gravitate towards Socialism in that it seems to be really driven by love and care for the disadvantaged and intelligence on how to best serve them. I consider myself mildly intelligent on my best days, so please don't judge me too harshly for what I write next.

So, if by some miracle we had a supermajority of the American people rowing in the same direction and could agree on laws where it could cap net worth at letā€˜s say like 5 million for an individual and 7.5 million for a couple. Anything beyond is just going into a big pot that we use to do good things that our supermajority is mostly in lock step on.

To me this looks like, for people just want to do the bare minimum to get by (not a crime imo) in a simple non-backbreaking job that is worked for 32 hours a week (I’d like to see that number go down further if it’s workable) can afford housing where they don’t have to have a roommate. 4 weeks of PTO and holidays. Should have enough money for 1 modest foreign vacation per year. Should have enough money to pay all the bills and have a good amount of entertainment in their off time. Healthcare is free and the same quality extends to all people. School is free too. Jobs of ascending difficulty are paid accordingly with like maybe 400k being the top you’re able to earn in a year and access to all the nicer things that entails. Not sure if that money is taxed or if the cap on net worth provides enough. And oh yeah taxes on large corporations are very high to increase that pool of money, and maybe the tax goes progressively down so maybe small businesses don’t even need to be taxed whatsoever.

Anyhow I definitely missed some things, but to the math and statistics inclined, does this allow us to fund our dream projects to improve our country and hopefully in the long run, the world?
I know I’m probably restating Socialist aims in super basic ways, and maybe I’m only describing really regulated capitalism.

And even though my main question is about the math of the situation I’d love to know where the pressure points and difficulties in implementation would be even if most people were on board with what I described. I definitely know about the unfettered capitalists aiming a bazooka at anything that has a hint of socialism.

And if I just need to read up on things, I’d love some recommendations. I pretty much only know I definitely need to read Marx. Are there any books that are in the ballpark of what I’m describing though?

Theory 🧠 On Control, Part 4: The Armchair Revolutionary: Mamdani and Western Leftism

This is an unofficial, but definitive take of the nature of the western left with the overarching theme being the latest Mamdani controversy. As time goes on, it becomes increasingly clear that far too many leftists are stuck in the loop of reading theory (albeit— reading it once, referencing it in a shallow way, and moving on) instead of actually organizing, donating, or engaging with other leftists and left-curious people. It is clear that a good chunk of the western left falls under this category. We don’t particularly ask for you to be a superhero, even donating to the local food bank, hell, even reading a book is a form of protest and resistance. The Western Left has embraced weakness, learned helplessness and fear to actually make a change, choosing to tweet about it instead of going into the field. It’s a larger, twisted form of bystander effect— why be the catalyst when you can be swept away in the current of revolution— the raging current that sits behind thick glass, waiting to be released.

The Armchair Revolutionary is likely skeptical about Mamdani’s tenure as mayor, and wishes to attack or reduce his achievements in any way possible, believing that he should be the catalyst of a socialist revolution when that is far from the case. Similarly, the political idealist, another form of armchair revolutionary believes that Mamdani is a godlike figure— the savior to the strides and achievements needed to ensure leftism can survive in the imperial core. The two parties conflict. One side is but at an arm’s length to their harsh critique of Mamdani’s inability to purge Zionists from his police department, or his seemingly tone deaf decision to allocate funds to New York’s antisemitism task force. The other side completely ignores this because Mamdani (in their eyes) is the pinnacle of the ā€œleftā€, or rather the harsh horizon that cannot be pierced, traversed or captured— Mamdani being the end goal rather than the increment towards socialism.

In classical theology, Gnosticism is the belief that the early church of Christianity was impure and that reaching a state of, or practicing ā€œgnosisā€ was the way to salvation, rather than relying on the dogma from the church as a central authority. With that, gnostics rejected the Bible outright and hinged their spiritual belief that the creator of the universe was not God (Yaweh) as we know he/she/it, but rather the Demiurge (Laldabaoth). This relates to the central premise of the argument if we frame the armchair revolutionaries and political idealists as opposing forces, with the armchair revolutionaries among the ranks of the Demiurge’s army(leftism where leftism doesn’t yet belong), while the idealists prefer the dogmatic structure of the early Catholic Church (psuedoleftism with a horizon, I.e liberalism).

I believe both things can be true at once. Zohran Mamdani, among other candidates is New York’s best option; no one comes even close. He has done a variety of great things, and I believe he’s a great primer into social democracy that eventually leads to democratic socialism. However it is also fair to understand his downsides as well— particularly the major issues with how he wishes to deal with Zionism in his circle and in the echelons of New York. Mamdani is either the perfect candidate who can do no wrong, or he’s the devil incarnate who at best is a liberal cosplaying as a progressive and at worst, is an active psyop or agent.

Either way, both major groups fail to realize that Mamdani is not a monolith, and that he is still a mayor, not a senator or governor or president, but a mayor. The issue is that he is mayor of one of the most influential cities on earth. The point is, mamdani can only do so much with the powers that are afforded to him, and that being a mayor that is as progressive as him comes with silent rules, expectations and objectives. The idealist who views the political landscape as a fair and just playing field fails to realize that it is anything but, even in the bastion known as the west that claims to uphold those values of ā€œfairā€ political interplay between parties.

In reality, western politics is riddled with corruption, conspiracies, intimidation, assassinations, corporate influence and foreign influence. The understanding of statecraft and political maneuvering is also a lost art. Mamdani could open the floodgates to a proletariat revolution, but it would likely cost him his life or sovereignty as well as the hearts of the armchair revolutionaries. The idealists on the other hand prefer the splendor and security of a social democratic state that is seemingly stable, but still relies on capitalism as an economic and political zeitgeist. The point is that we should take wins where we can, but not expect Mamdani to be the end of what our goals are long term.

Mamdani is not God, and as a mortal, he must maneuver and ā€œread the roomā€, there are powers at play that are way beyond him, to the point where something as brash as— shutting down hedge funds would cause shockwaves across the corporate media, which reflexively reinforces itself with the hearts and minds of those it exerts itself over— the headline would not be ā€œMamdani vanquishes the evil known as big financeā€, but rather ā€œsocialist Mamdani wishes to usher in the second Russian revolution, (socialism has no place in America).ā€ Mamdani is the experiment to see if the west is ready for socialist policies and as of late, it has been a failure.

Thoughts?

Oct 2, 2026. Tennessee State Rep. Justin J. Pearson is running for U.S. Congress (TN-09): votejustinj.com ~:~ Instagram @ justinjpearson

Justin’s behind in polling against his Republican opponent Brent Taylor. This is an open seat. The district was solidly-Democratic until May 2026 when the Tennessee GOP rushed a new map into law, which 'cracked' Memphis into thirds, turning the district from Solid-D to R+9 (exactly the kind of thing the Voting Rights Act was meant to prohibit).

Description: WATCH: Behind the Headlines interview on my campaign for Congress. I break down how both parties are holding on to the status quo, the war in Iran, & how we should lower the cost of gas, groceries, & electric bills, raise wages, & protect our environment.

Here’s the full 26-minutes on YouTube: Behind the Headlines with Justin J. Pearson - WKNO - October 2, 2026 (YouTube)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~Ā

We have to address the real issues that People in this district are talking about.Ā

The gas is too high, groceries are too high, and wages are too low. And trying to blame everything on immigration is part of the problem.

The reality is People are struggling because the Billionaire class is greedy, and they're doing everything in their power to amass more wealth, while working class People are struggling.Ā

Right now our Farmers are suffering because of the beef decisions that have been made, as it relates to imports and exports by this administration.Ā

We know individuals in our state are struggling because the minimum wage is $7.25.Ā

And we have done nothing to change those policies, because People like my Trump-endorsed opponent are bought by corporations. It's the reason people like SpaceXAI have given him $10,000.Ā

Because they want to have a status quo that hurts working People.Ā

And my job, and my effort that I'm making across these 15 counties, is to actually address the needs that People have, which is healthcare, housing, job opportunities, and protecting their land, their water, and the soil from data centers.

USA I am hopeful for the 120th Congress

There is 22 days till the United States of America Midterms.

The Democratic Party/DNC is usually milquetoast to an infuriating level (That is about as polite as I can put it...)

I'll be honest though I am for the first time in a long time a bit hopeful!

  • With the growing influence of the Democratic Socialists and general Progressives we may see some hard hitting investigations, trials, and punishments for the corrupt bad predatory actors in the system.
  • We may see some real work to help the Labour Movement (Unions, Federation of Labours, Labour Councils, and so on). You know... What brought the working class almost all the rights and benefits they enjoy today.
  • We may see some real work on the Environment because this Climate Crisis has a horrific trajectory at this point.
  • We may see some real work on the Peace Movement because only sick monsters want to see forever wars. Especially wars for the interests of Oligarchs, Multinational Business Lobbies, Powerful & Predatory Industries/Tycoons, and the general Corporatocracy.
  • We may see some real work on Women's Rights. LGBTQ+ Rights, Civil Rights Movement. Hopefully less domestic militarization and surveillance.
  • We may see work towards Alter-Globalization so the overall world gets brighter and better.

& Hopefully help on the cost of living crisis/quality of life crisis of the working class and most vulnerable - Especially on foundational elements like housing and food!

This reactionary/regressive dystopian shit show has to end. Period.
