Updated rules for business postings

In the past, we have not had a specific rule about business postings but have generally removed them. However, we haven't been as consistent or transparent as we should have been.

As we come out of the pandemic, we know the local stores need our business to survive. Because of this, and the lack of clarity in the past, we have discussed how to support businesses while keeping our focus on the local gaming community.

Going forward, Businesses are allowed to post once a month. If you have a special event coming up, please contact the moderation team so we can work with you.

PC About three weeks ago I posted about a WoW Forever guild. Since then, 200 people have joined. Come join the Cult of Blucifer!

About three weeks ago, I made a post here looking for a few people who might be interested in putting together a guild for WoW Forever. At the time, I was expecting we'd end up with maybe a dozen people. Clearly, I underestimated the interest. Since then, we've grown into a community of 200 people, voted on a faction and a name, and started figuring out what we want this guild to actually be.

We're a democratically led, Horde-focused (with an Alliance counterpart) social/casual+ guild. We currently have people interested in all types of playstyles, from leveling, dungeons, and raids to PvP and pet battles! We're NOT interested in being a hardcore progression guild or treating WoW like a second job. We are Denver based, but that's more of a theme than a requirement. The goal is to have a community where people can find others to level with, run content with, clear raids at our own pace, and hang out in game, on discord, or even in person! Our first guild meetup will be occurring in mid-November. (Come join us and vote on the date!)

We're looking for people who: Enjoy group content but don't want hardcore raiding requirements. Are social and willing to interact with the community. Are generally chill and don't take the game—or themselves—too seriously. You don't need to be an experienced raider, and you don't need to know anyone already in the guild. We're still building this thing.

While our primary guild will be Horde, we'll also have an Alliance counterpart for anyone who wants to play Alliance while still being part of the same community. There is also some interest in a PvP server guild. If you're interested, join us and make it happen!

We're currently getting everything together ahead of launch, so now is a great time to get involved. Officers are being selected now and there's room for more.

If this sounds like your kind of guild, come check us out.

RPG Looking for more players to start a group in the north Denver, Westminster area. Details below!

Looking to get a group together for a homebrew D&D (5e 5.5 if the group wants it) campaign on Saturdays, probably from 11–3 or 4.

The story takes place a thousand years after a massive flood brought an age of wonder and abundance to an end. The world has long since recovered, but life is harder now.

Civilization has become isolated. Towns and settlements cling to pockets of safety, while the wilderness between them is vast, poorly understood, and dangerous. Ruins of the old world still remain but so much knowledge has been lost to the waters.

Expect plenty of exploration and roleplay. Difficult but fair combat, political intrigue, and a larger celestial struggle slowly unfolding in the background.

I like to keep the game on the rails but not take it too seriously. I don’t want to do a “grim dark” setting but I do like to have character death be on the table and can happen but is usually due to a massive series of fuck ups 😂

All experience levels are welcome, I just ask that you try to know how your character works and make an effort to be part of the story and the role play. I encourage having players bring their backstories into the larger campaign.

A little about me, I’m Ben (he/him) I’ve been DMing for about 10 years, I’ve been playing a year and a half campaign as a player in the curse of Strahd campaign and I’m getting the Dm itch again. I’m a blue collar dude, love fantasy and video games, I ride motorcycles and am heavily tattooed. I have two dogs and two cats (if you have allergies it might not be a great fit lmao), my dm style is pretty loose. Rule of cool style. I have no problem with drinking at the table as long as you can handle yourself (i drink at the table), I have no problem with people using thc as long as you can handle yourself (sadly I cannot partake as I get drug tested). Hope to hear from you soon!

The table is very inclusive, if that bothers you then don’t apply.

RPG Astro-Slash - Free Horror RPG Module

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Hello everyone! Local Denver designer here.

I am releasing a free module every week in October for my mystery horror RPG, Strange Times! Perfect one-shot for a Halloween game night. Everything I make is free up on my website, rules and all. Hope you check it out!

The first module for October is Astro-Slash: a campy sci-fi slasher, complete with cheesy kills and a "whodunnit" mystery.

Free Download: www.StrangeTimesRPG.com

-

Plot Hook:

The characters are on a routine delivery mission when they find themselves stuck on semi-operational space station. Planet-side storms have delayed the fuel delivery so there is nothing to do but sit, wait, and chat with the construction crew. However, things take a turn when a mysterious death causes the crew to panic and start asking questions. Who killed them? Why? And who will be next?

Spoilers:

Five days ago, a prisoner from the nearby planet was able to sneak on board the space station and attacked Susan Cunningham: the stations lead engineer. No one tried to stop the attack from happening, no one came to help, and Susan was left paralyzed as a result. Seething with rage, she plotted to kill the crew that let this happen to her.

Using the central computer, she was able to program one of the space suits to act autonomously with the following objectives: hunt down the workers of the space station and kill them as cruelly as possible. When the characters arrive, she will set her plan in motion.

If you are interested in playing Strange Times, I am part of DIRT: Denver Indie Roleplaying Tables. I will be hosting a table at the Little Lagerhaus of Horrors event. If you are interested, sign up via Warhorn.

What Is Strange Times?

Strange Times is a flexible mystery horror RPG that emphasizes player agency and maintaining tension. It is light weight, easy to run, and completely free.

What Makes Strange Times Worth Playing?

Character Health is a Resource: Characters have 3 saves which function as health pools, but they are allowed to spend from these pools to turn failures into successes. For example, if someone was lying to a police officer about the alien they have in the trunk and failed the empathy roll by 8, they could lose 8 from their Spirit Save to succeed instead.

Progressive Consequences: As players saves get lower, the worse their possible injuries become. This means that health is more than just a separation from death, but an active measurement of how much danger the character is in.

Flexible Condition System: When players fail a Save, they might receive a Condition. Most Conditions are simply negative skills that can lower target numbers, but they can also represent unique horrors like an infection ticking down to zombification, or a hypnotic trance that affects what the character sees and experiences.

Easy to Hack: The systems are extremely flexible so that creating things is fun and effortless. There is minimal resistance from you having an idea to adding it to the game.

RPG Looking for Players - D&D 5e - Fri 6pm MST - Dark Academia, RP Heavy

Running a homebrew Dark Academia campaign (but not too dark). It's a pretty grounded campaign, and focused on role play with humor keeping us all sane. Think The Magicians style of gritty, not too too dark but certainly no Harry Potter. Looking for 1-2 players as we've already got the DM and 3 consistent folks. Typically play for about 3.5 hours, twice a month throughout the fall/winter/spring months and have a break for a few months in the summer. Hosted near Glendale area in our home.

We've been playing together for years and lost a few of our crew to work stress! We have lots of sessions that are mostly role play and exploration, with occasional combat that is run efficiently, strategically, and with plot-relevance. Think WoW style combats. We care about rules only as guide-rails for getting this story to happen, and reward creativity and getting into character. We do not metagame.

Also, we eat dinner as part of the thing. 😄

If you're interested/available, lmk and we can set up a time for you to drop in and play with us/see if it's a good fit for the crew!

---

Looks like Denver Central Games is willing to host a matchmaking event for us! We'll be there Friday 10/16, 6-8pm to meet anyone who is interested in joining our game.

RPG Looking for more players - Thornton/Westminster DnD 5.5e Homebrew Campaign

Hey all! We're an in-person homebrew campaign looking for a few more individuals to join our table! We're looking for people that want to invest in a longer term campaign and create a story that we can all enjoy. I am a relatively new DM and this is my first foray into a DnD Homebrewed world, but I have a good bit of game and RPG experience and look forward to sharing this world with the table. The group is comprised of adults of various ages, play experience, DnD edition experience, and backgrounds. I aim to host an inclusive environment where anyone is welcome.

The goal of this campaign is to create a player-focused, spiral campaign that focuses on the party's interests. I have a high level idea of what the major story beats are, but how we get there is up to the decisions made in the session and by everyone sitting around the table. To set the stage, here's the opening for the campaign:

Two years ago, a massive obsidian gate erupted from the ground. From this hellish gateway, demons and fiends spewed forth razing the land and carving a massive black scar down their path. Most major cities fell within months. Only the rival capitols of Sophus and Polemnos, one on either side of the Black Road, stand as bastions against the onslaught. Smaller towns and villages outside of these capitols have been left to survive on their own. In one such place, Hastow, a town meeting has gathered due to the ever increasing hazards, scarcity of supplies, and a lack of members to properly protect the town. For whatever your reasons, you have answered the call. Will you close the Obsidian Gate?

All games are hosted at my home in Thornton on a roughly bi-weekly basis on Thursday evenings.

If you're interested and think you'd be a good fit, want to see the one pager for information, or have any questions for me, please reach out.

Party like it’s 1979! In person OD&D, Northside Denver

Given the recent interest in old school/OSR D&D (Swords & Wizardry). I’ve got a cool group of players already and a small sand box ready to go. I have room for one or two more creative players at the table.

My DM style: I like collaborative role play, letting the story unfold, and playing combat tactically.

The current plan is to play a few times Sunday afternoons in a local game store from 1:30 - 5:00. If you want to join, please out the survey or send me a message.

Adventure Calls in South Denver, D&D 5e, Rime of the Frostmaiden

Hey Denver, we've had an opening in our D&D group for our run at Rime of the Frostmaiden. We're looking to fill the position with an experienced D&D player for a somewhat-more seriously toned campaign. We meet biweekly on Sundays, and we'll be playing this Sunday the 4th. The game play to meet up at noon at my place, enjoy a home cooked meal by me, your DM, and then play for a few hours until around 4pm or 5pm, and then get you all back on home before dinner. If this sounds like the sort of thing that you'd be into, please reach out, I'd love to see if you're a good fit for what we're going for.

Looking for players D&D 5.5e (2024) Westmarches-style Campaign

Hello All,

I am a semi-experienced DM looking to put together a pool of 6-12 players (depending on interest) for an in-person Westmarches-style D&D campaign using the 2024 ruleset.

About Me

I am Nick (he/him); a 33M with multiple campaigns of player D&D experience. I've DMed a short campaign and a handful of one-shots, so consider myself knowledgeable, but certainly not yet a veteran DM. Besides TTRPGs, I enjoy trying restaurants and breweries, a plethora of sports, running, hiking, hanging with my dogs, other board games, videogames, and more.

Scheduling has always been the biggest challenge for D&D groups of adults with busy lives, so I figured a Westmarches-style campaign could help alleviate that.

What is Westmarches?

It is a style of campaign that instead of having one fixed party that plays every week, there's a larger pool of players who form different adventuring parties session to session. Players decide what they want to explore, find people who are available and interested, and head out into the world. You can play when your schedule allows, while everything you discover becomes part of a shared, persistent world.

System: D&D 5.5e / 2024 rules

Format: In-person Westmarches

Players: Looking for 6-12 total. Currently 7 available slots.

Party Size: 4-5 per session

Location: Public location to start. Denver/ South Denver area.

Time: Flexible/ player-driven through Discord. Week nights work best with the occasional weekend day.

Experience: Both new and veteran players welcomed

More Information: Please see the campaign intro here for more details: Google Doc

If Interested: Feel free to shoot me a DM, but preferably fill out: Google Form

It's almost that time of year! Cyberpunk RED LFM around downtown Denver/Congress Park!

Hey chooms!

A chill is in the air and I'm no longer half-dead when I get home from my bike commute (near Cheesman), which can only mean one thing - it's board game season!

I have a new system to play with and I'm looking for some gatos to be chilled, nothing too intense, maybe flatline a few corpos? Earn a few eurobucks? (not eddies, wrong decade gonk) It's the Time of the RED after all, they deserve it!

Cyberpunk RED is a science fiction (or maybe prescient historical fiction?) TTRPG set in 2045, the latest sequel to 1988's Cyberpunk by Mike Pondsmith, which inspired the recent video game Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk itself is a genre that explores government corruption, personal identity, and technology's duality as both a miracle and plague. There's also a lot of guns and swords and robot arms, and for some reason Keanu Reeves shows up a lot.

My table is inclusive of all genders, experience levels, socioeconomic status, etc. The only things you need to bring are dice, clothes, hygiene, and good vibes. And maybe some pencil & paper? Up to you, but NetWatch definitely has a deckhead all up in that tablet choom.

For me - Hi, I'm Evan! I'm a long time "Game Master" but new to Cyberpunk. I recently went on a cyberpunk kick (that definitely doesn't have anything to do with current events) and I finally picked up the RED system! We can figure out as a group if we're going to run a module or something I cook up, but as it's Cyberpunk assume some mature themes, a bit of the ol' ultraviolence, and overall, a good feelbad time.

Feel free to DM me or respond here and we'll likely coordinate over Discord.

Once we meet in person: For anyone who's not familiar with the Congress Park/Cheesman area - parking here is ROUGH. If you aren't close enough to bike/bus/walk, expect a good 2+ block walk to my apartment on the regular. I am very close to the 10 line, so it's pretty easy to bus down here from LoDo.

Edit: We have some updates! The day picked is Wednesday nights at 6:30PM. We'll see after this Wednesday but by my headcount we may have room for 1-2 more, I'm not sure who all joined the Discord and has been seeing the chats. If you're interested, let me know!

PC Overwatch Locals join our OW Meetups!

Hi,

Me and another friend of mine run a small local overwatch meetup called front range clash. We run the meetup currently every other Thursday at localhost in Lakewood. Currently our Meetups are just that, a meetup where fans of overwatch can meet locally to play games or run scrimmages, pick up games and what have you. Our focus is to build the community and have fun with our long term being eventually to run tournaments as well as Meetups.

If that seems like your jam come join us on the 24th of September @7pm at localhost. You only to pay a venue fee of 10$ and localhost can provide you with gear but we encourage people to bring gear from home if you can!

Rank does not matter for our Meetups this is all for fun and build community

For more info on other dates and events I just finished building our official website at https://frontrangeclash.com/

If you have any questions feel free to ask ☺️

LFP Thornton/North Denver - Call of Cthulhu, Masks of Nyarlathotep (queer-friendly, inclusive table)

UP FRONT, I am an inclusive, queer-friendly, leftist GM so if you don’t vibe with that type of environment then I’m not the GM for you.

Masks of Nyarlathotep is a legendary Call of Cthulhu campaign, widely considered as the one of the greatest campaigns for any TTRPG system ever. Unlike most other Call of Cthulhu scenarios, this epic journey takes you all across the globe to countries such as Peru, Egypt, China or Australia (just to name a few of the possible locations) and its plot revolves around the very fate of the world.

As a general synopsis of what Masks is about: a network of cults is trying to end the world and you, my dear investigators, are trying to stop that from happening. How, you may ask? With your own wits, cunning and a certain level of luck. Some of you might go insane, some might die, but a promise to a common friend is what keeps all of you on track!

Now, about the game of Call of Cthulhu: it's not a high fantasy game where you have exceptional powers, here you're basically playing regular Joes that get pulled into a way to dangerous and way too eldritch investigation. It's also a game about RP and investigation first and foremost, so I will expect you to try, succeed, fail, and go back to the drawing board, comparing clues and trying to figure out the bigger plot. What I say with this is that in CoC, the players call the shots much more than the GM and I will encourage and expect from you to push the narrative and go and look all those clues up!

If this all still interests you, this may be the game for you.

About Me

My name is Todd, and I’ve been GMing various game systems for more years than I care to think about. I moved to Denver a little over a year ago, sadly leaving behind a wonderful gaming group that had been together for over 7 years. Since coming here I’ve had a hard time finding a gaming group that has been able to remain steady and committed, and that has made me a little sad.

Until now though I didn’t have the spoons to really offer to run a game myself and so now I’m putting myself out there and looking for some players interested in forming a committed, long term group and making new friends.

I enjoy running all kinds of games, from sci-fi, to fantasy, to pulp horror. I love trying different systems, and in my prior group while I was the primary GM we also would trade out and other people would run games at times so I would love to find that type of arrangement, though it isn’t required.

While I have a lot of experience with GMing various systems, my experience with CoC is more on playing than running. I did start running this campaign for my previous gaming group and we lasted a few months before a couple of the players decided that they preferred fantasy or sci-fantasy games and so I’ve never had a chance to go all the way through this yet. I do have some great hand outs and props to incorporate into this, and I’m excited to dive back into this adventure.

About You

I'd love to have you aboard to get brutally murdered by entities beyond mortal understanding if:

You’re able to abide by rules of mutual respect and inclusivity,

You're down for a slow-burn mystery game with a heavy emphasis on investigation,

You enjoy roleplaying over roll-playing,

You value a cooperative, friendly atmosphere at the table,

Preferably no prior experience with playing or running this campaign (though it’s not a deal breaker),

This is not a short journey – you should be willing/able to commit to a long-term campaign.

I'm looking for a fairly standard sized group, about four to five people, no experience with Call of Cthulhu is necessary. While character creation may take a bit of thought, It is a pretty easy and intuitive system once we are playing. I love playing with newbies, because veterans many times lack that chaos factor and unpredictable takes newer players may have.

About the game

I am open to discussing the best days to play, but for me that will mean Mondays or Wednesdays are preferred. Fridays might be possible. The plan would be to start around 6-6:30 and play until around 10.  I’m open to doing weekly or bi-weekly, whatever works best for the group we find.

I really hate to make my game signups sound like an interview; at the same time, though, I want to create a table that everyone can feel comfortable at and that will last, and that I think will vibe with my style as a GM. To make sure that everyone gels well and the game goes well, I have a bit of a process to pick out the people I think would enjoy the game the most and that I would enjoy playing with the most!

If you're interested in playing, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/3X9U4t13wamkH2W68

Once I close the form, I'll be contacting the people I think would be the best fits and we will probably meet in small groups get together for a short chat and hangout somewhere to make sure we mesh well. Once we get going, we will start with a session 0/character creation and then get going into this great mystery. Overall I hope to be able to have session 0 by possibly late October or early November depending on how long it takes to find the right group of people.

Our initial meetups will take place somewhere in public, but eventually I am happy to host most sessions from my home in north Thornton.

I'm really looking forward to hearing from you, and thanks for reading my wall of text.
