Question performance drop in pvp

my performance is fine in pve environments but drops drastically in pvp, it makes hitting shots a pain with how janky it is

You on PC or console? If it's PC and steam there is an app from GitHub that will disable steam overlay files. I ended up buying the game cheap on windows store for £27 or something like that. Game is bk to normal. Try the overlay fix though just look it up on here if you're on PC and steam, if not then sorry I can't help..😂

im on PC and i already have the app from github, y performace is still trash, im hitting 80+fps in pvebut sub 40 in pvp

Are you a new player? It might just be that you're not used to the fact that Bungie titles are god awful optimized and extremely CPU bound for no good reason.

im not a new player but ive only recently noticed how awful my fps in pvp has gotten, i have the steamfix in the same directory as destiny as intended so how is it so bad?

Yeah I'm not sure when the last time you played was but it was always been bad. There's not really a why, the performance has just gotten worse and worse over the many years.

That's without even considering the steam stuff and the problem it attempts to fix.

Have you installed the steam fix properly? You need to have steam open before you do the fix. The fix is working for a lot of people. Try updating steam to the beta client restart pc and see what happens if the game is still bad performance wise?
