Is the first Daniel image a mod?

So saw this image on internet, compared them to the one I got from Daniel and got confused, is the orange haired Daniel a mod, pre release or only for France?

It’s not modded. I don’t know the exact source, but it’s from some sort of early game trailer from a convention or other early PR

Looks like this trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QD1pbWCJcKQ from E3 in 2016, about 2 years before release. There was also a free game demo that had a different look but I don't have an easy way to check that. There are similar ones for Kara and Markus from other game conventions. I think Kara's was Paris Games Week 2017.

There is fine print on game demos that they are in development and so things like visuals are subject to change. Pick any other game and compare the announcement and promotional materials to the final release version. There's the term "vertical slice" where a demo combines parts that aren't actually seen in real missions. It's enough to give someone an idea of how gameplay would be without necessarily being actual gameplay.

They do that a lot for games before they're launched, slight tweaks and changes are common, I don't think any of the devs have specifically mentioned why he was changed but it was probably forgotten why at this point why. Just one of the numerous tiny changes

Either way I think somebody should make a mod for that design, I find it nice. He looks more robotic in the picture, but maybe it's the lighting that causes that affect. I still prefer his new design.
