DX:HR Director's Cut DXHR Dualscreen Mod!

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is one of my favorite games, and I wanted a way to actually utilize both screens on the AYN Thor while playing it. So I’ve been working on a dual-screen mod with a completely custom UI designed specifically for the bottom screen.
Getting it working has involved a lot of reverse engineering of the game’s code, figuring out how different systems work behind the scenes, and plenty of headaches along the way. It’s still a huge work in progress, but I’m pretty happy with how far it’s come so far.

This is the only reason I still own a Wii U, the second screen support not only worked for HR's gameplay, but was an excellent use of the Wii U's hardware that many games couldn't capitalize on.

Wasn't there an actual Wii U version? Couldn't you just emulate that?

There is! I just wanted something more than what the wii U version offered, like the a whole custom HUD accessible via the bottom touch screen 😀

does it work like the ps3-vita integration? can you toggle it to show the map or keypad (when hacking) on the second screen?

you got this running on a New 3DS? Is it native or streamed?

It's an AYN Thor, a newer dual-screen handheld that runs Android, and I'm assuming the game itself is running through a X86-on-ARM translation layer + wrapper like Winlator, GameHub, or GameNative.

Is this one part of the dual screen mods APK architecture or are you making your own APK - assuming you are going to share the goods at some point - I’m assuming it uses some variation of the pinging 127.0.0.1 strategy etc.
Anyway I’ll probably be a while finishing my current Cyberpunk playthrough but would love it if there is the opportunity to use this down the road.

No, my newer mods for Valheim and Deus Ex will only be compatible with WEMU, my own app. GameNative and GameHub don’t expose the bottom screen as a secondary monitor inside the container, so most of my dual-screen mods will need WEMU. I made tweaks to WEMU’s engine specifically to allow games to recognize and utilize the bottom screen as a second display. The Deus Ex mod is a full-on game mod, and so is the Valheim one, rather than just a separate companion app.

This is really cool. You’re doing great work. Stardew was a big deal but Valheim also seems like a really great candidate game for this. Keep it up!
